  1. Mentally or physically, STOP before you're too tired....
  2. Husky 550XPG (heated handle) inc 18" bar and chain on F R Jones for under £540 including VAT & postage at the moment, thats not bad.
  3. Haha, is the Tuckers a pub? cheers
  4. Strong winds here in Pembrokeshire again. Not good for the balancing act of our trees as the ground is already very squishy from the recent heavy rains.
  5. If I win them I'll have to buy a 550XP!
  6. Thats a Fab prize.
  7. It's a 2 year warranty for commercial use.
  8. That's a great happy birthday & happy early xmas present - be good to hear your thoughts on using the Dolmar 5105....
  9. We've had a fair bit of rain and strong winds earlier, but the worst seems to have passed us now, i guess?! Overall, not as bad as the forecast sounded.... but havent had chance to check the woodland for fallen trees. *gulp, hopefully none this time!*
  10. As much as i would be eternally grateful & happy to win ANY of the wonderful prizes; it feels better to see the raffle total totting up for The Childrens Trust. Xmas has always been and always will be for children - so, who cares about winning a prize..... just BUY A TICKET!!!
  11. Yeah, you are right - the UK warranty thing with Dolmar is a bit of a black hole, and the yucky aqua colour is vile. Is strange that they've not picked up on this yet. Wish they'd just stop faffing about & sell proper Dolmars here!
  12. Have you had much luck with gathering a Dolmar price list TDC? i'm hoping to get some xmas money to go towards one. Xmas cheers! Steve
  13. not sure? but wondering, have you considered the Dolmar PS-6100? DOLMAR - PS-6100
  14. Which came first? The building or the permission? If no planning permission was sought then it sounds like you need to go through a Retrospective Permitted Development route, but I'm not sure how / if that is possible? If planning was originally sought & granted then i guess it was for commercial use? (which is why they are asking for rate payments), if so then you need to go for change of use (for agricultural forestry purposes).
  15. Automatic Permitted Development rights (for agricultural purposes) only exist for areas above 5 hectares. Councils can have input on the siting & design.
  16. okay, no worries as your photos show exactly whats going on. Big shame on the developers for doing this - your local newspaper should run a story on this.

    sap

I've been cleaning sap off the Silky Saw with either of the following: a) butter b) lard c) olive oil d) vegetable oil choose one of those, scrub for a while using an old toothbrush, apply a squirt of ecover washing up liquid and rinse under warm water. Try it and let us know if it works??.....
  18. Do you have a scale plan of the development area near the tree to upload here?
  19. Shame how houses have been granted planning permission within close vicinity of a "Huge" Horse Chestnut with a preservation order.... I imagine doing groundworks in the same area of the tree was always going to result in serious damage to the root system. Maybe they (developers & planners) expected 'something like this' to happen all along?!
  20. Hurts i bet. After handling loads of blackthorn today not a single one got through my Ripeur 2 gloves.... and then, right at the end of the day, WHAM!, got one straight through my welly into my ankle! It's out to get us i tell ya!!
  21. Are you sure you got all of it out? http://www.medicinenet.com/plant_thorn_synovitis/article.htm
  22. It's been a lovely day here today in Pembrokeshire, but now it's tea time and there are some ominous clouds building on the horizon. Batten the hatches.
  23. We're in the middle of making our little boys xmas present ~ it's a DIY WigWam. 8ft ash poles (drying out fast & starting to split!), 2m of rustic rope and a patchwork cover. Also working on some small accessories to go with it - log slithers, etc p.s... only one light bulb in the light fitting to save 2/3rds lighting energy!
  24. Great stuff. How is the log rounds table held together?
