  1. As i imagined, that is a strong price, verging on Extra Strong.
  2. Looks like a strong tool, and i imagine with a strong price....
  3. Dolmar 5105 with heated handle? ....not the lightest in it's class, but word out is that it's powerful & also reliable!!
  4. Great idea!.... a human spinning top for xmas! 82 metres
  5. Done.
  6. Totally unfair and proves we're getting way beyond stitched up in the UK.
  7. Spill the Dolly beans shavey!...... are Makita reading this? ....ah, you beat me to it. Good idea, and it would make very good business sense for them.
  8. Quote for 18" and heated please TCD. Also,is it easy enough to get the basics...bars, spark plug, filter, etc to fit the Dolmar 5105 from here in UK? cheers
  9. Just tried finding uk prices of the Makita ea5000p but only found one, and that was priced over £540 (rip off) Makita are making a pretty good job at f***ing up. Rewinding back to importing again: How much do i need to pay in total (inc delivery, import tax & vat) for a Dolmar 5105 with heated handle? And does it come with a bar & chain? Thanks
  10. Sorry, I'm a bit confused; the UK flag links to Makita UK.... is the Makita EA5000P38D the same as the Dolmar 5105, but just a different colour? They are both rated at the same power (2.8kw). Makita UK - EA5000P38D - 2 Stroke 50cc Chainsaw
  11. ah thanks! different website, the one i was looking at doesnt list the 6100, see here? DOLMAR - Chain saws gasoline
  12. Cheers, but could do with seeing some Dolmar 5105 & 6100 figures to compare with other manufacturers. Today, for some strange reason the 6100 isn't shown on the dolmar website (pretty sure it was there yesterday), and the 550XP specs aren't available on the Husqvarna website either! Are they reading this thread??!
  13. Excellent info, thanks Wolter ... now getting very serious about buying a dolmar instead of a husky. Did you come across any info on fuel consumption?
  14. Yes, poor cameraman
  15. That's good to know.... seems VHF is the way to go, i guess?
  16. Love it all. You should be very proud of your work here. 10/10 + one gold star Now, where's my apple?
  17. I've read a few forums about trackers and have seen a few comments that they can be blocked/ over ridden, but not sure if this is true or how it's done?
  18. Ah, um, errr, hmmmm, very true! ...but got very sharp teeth.
  19. Huge thanks & respect to you for sharing this, it's a great visual lesson that will stick in my mind.... along with other true chainsaw stories (some sadly far, far worse than yours). Have to admit a few months ago I had a few close calls when undercutting with a Silky Saw, completely due to bad positioning (there is no chain-brake on a silky). Each close call was due to working when tired/ at the end of the day. Sounds like such a simple tool but using the Silky has taught me a huge amount. My nose could have quite easily looked like yours. I'm so glad I didn't dive straight into managing our woodland with a chainsaw - and whilst I have used other peoples chainsaws in the past, and felled a tree on my own; all with very little experience or safety knowledge it makes me shudder to think how stupid that was.
  20. Second hand is second hand, sold as seen. If a problem occurs.... it's second hand. Tell them to either: a)p*** off b)p*** off c)p*** off tough choice eh!
  21. I'm a bit new to this raffle but have noticed the 'raffle sponsor' written under forum member names.... how does the raffle work? Is it for a charity? cheers, steve
  22. SteveA

    A sad day.

Heard it on the radio first thing this morning.... such a surreal & awful incident. Good on you for helping out.
  23. Absolutely!
  24. thanks Also, trying to work out what the similar husky model would be? eg; Husky 550xpg = Dolmar 5105 Husky 560xpg = Dolmar 6100 ??. and having trouble finding info to compare the specifications/ fuel use, chain speed, etc ....but definitely interested, especially if dolmars are more reliable. Don't care if they weigh a little more!
  25. Pretty sure google doesn't add so much weight to linking other pages nowadays. It's more important to have good/ accurate content & having a site map may also be of benefit. .... saying that, it is worth having links to other sites when is deemed to be useful to your visitors > for a better user experience.
