  1. It's another Stihl vs Husky
  2. Has happened to me before as well - felt almost spiritual, bambi like, cute. Quite a surreal feeling as it was in a rural village graveyard, in Dorset.
  3. ah lovely ta.
  4. Is this? a) fake or b) not fake Stihl MS880 Professional Chainsaw | eBay
  5. Do you have an 18" Sugihara light type pro in stock to fit 550xpg?
  6. Very useful thanks Rob
  7. That's a big picture, or has the writing gone small? Arbtalk has morphed into Alice in Wooderland!
  8. As if by magic lots of swear words appear in my mind. ....this is for corporations, not small business. Remember who's in charge at DEFRA right now.
  9. He could also ask angrily for it to be re-activated
  10. Would have liked to get a Dolmar (ie not a Makita) but couldn't wait any longer. ....so have just ordered my very first chainsaw, before the prices go up... a 550xpg from FR jones. Hopefully Husky is best!!!
  11. - To prevent plumbing leaks make sure all your joints are watertight - Spend a night on the tiles and you'll be fine Hope this helps
  12. You say good bye, I say hello, hello hello I don't know why you say "Good bye"? I say hello hello, hello I don't know why you say goodbye? I say hello..... Run along now....

    Rain!!!

Deserves a thread of it's own. Good to hear you got out safe
  14. Great! ....be very interested to hear how you get on with slicing beams. I need to cut a load for building our barn (to be green oak framed & spruce roof trusses). Looking at the cheapest option, maybe a mix of Alaskan milling and McConnel saw bench, like yours?? Certainly cant afford a bandsaw!
  15. Oh yes! Didnt see pics before i commented, cheers Looks great. What's the fuel economy like and is it any good for milling trees into beams, green oak etc?
  16. I'm guessing that would be driven by a tractor PTO?
  17. National Planning Policy Framework https://www.gov.uk/government/policies/making-the-planning-system-work-more-efficiently-and-effectively/supporting-pages/national-planning-policy-framework p.s... you aren't dumb, the whole planning system is CC (complex and confusing).
  18. Any suggestions for a self powered/ direct drive saw bench?
  19. Haha, I've decided!....
  20. Hydraulic powered saw bench (powered by mini digger hydraulics) Does such a thing exist, or anything similar?
  21. I once modified a broken van aerial by using a metal coat hanger. It worked fine until it got caught in a hedge.
  22. Tyre is fine when splitting - but it is useful to be able to carry all the splits to the stack in one go; a tyre is a bit too heavy for that.
  23. If you had over 5 hectares then you'd have a chance of getting retrospective permission via permitted development... but in comparison a 1 acre plot is tiny. Sorry to be brutally honest but it looks like you've gone way too far with the scale of it all, and that you'd be wasting your time & money chasing this any further. But I could be wrong??....

    Dolmar

Makita is not the same thing, unfortunately
  25. Quite a few years go now, I remember using the "too tired" sick note reason.... because holding down a 40 hour per week job as a mechanic AND playing 5 gigs a week in a rock band tends to make you feel a bit tired. Received 2 verbals and a written; never looked back....
