  1. He also asked if there were any other dedicated workers in a similar situation. I am about to walk away from my family Sunday, and dismantle a dead horse chestnut overhanging a live power line. I may use the ms200 one handed as well. I wonder if I will 'get what I deserve'?
  2. No he didn't, he asked for moral support. Check out the first post.
  3. Christ, the bloke just did a bit of stump grinding ffs. Some blokes mess their other halves about by Sleeping about Clubbing Sloping off to the pub Having entire second families Drinking Gambling. Getting wasted. He did a bit of work and gets a bunch of pompous priggs telling him he is a disgrace to humanity, his Mrs is going to leave him or sleep about, and he is going to get what he deserves,..... And that it will bad rather than good. (Whilst at the same time, there is another thread running, whining about how kids can't work as perfectly as all of you lot) Typical Arbtalk whitch hunts.
  4. That's a bit harsh Joe. Like many specialist tools, it has it's place in the arborists armory. I used to use mine to dry my hair.
  5. Christ, when you said 'old 020' I didn't think you meant that old. The 020av is a bit before my time. Sorry for the misinformation. (if you want a REALLY obsolete saw, I have a 338xpt kicking around somewhere). Lol
  6. 020 or 020t? Either way, the bar Chain and sprocket should be interchangeable with those of a ms200t.
  7. Yeah, that's kinda how we roll...... Tree surgeon Tom Connelly almost beheaded himself with chainsaw | Daily Mail Online
  8. My thought may be "drive sprocket"
  9. Couldn't narrow it down to one... There is a 200t in 'as new' condition, There is a 200t that I have refurbished (my current 'daily drive'), There is a 200t that I am sentimental about, but it is in bits, There is a 020t that needs a replacement starter casing (mouse ate it) and a few other bits doing -its not easy to find a replacement 020t starter housing any more (thay had a rectangular label on them (if you know where one is, i'd love to hear about it!)
  10. Urgent 'national holiday' work........ What are the odds they had TPOs on them - had a few idiots try and catch me out on that wheeze over the years!
  11. Check out about 9:12 [ame] [/ame]
  12. Is all that OK of it goes through the washing machine?
  13. Maybe some info here... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/climbers-talk/54681-art-zig-zag-31.html
  14. H&S legislation wise, I would think it would need to be designed and constructed by people deemed 'competent', and I would think it would require periodic inspection by a competent person, following a programme drawn up, probably by the designer. I think most H&S professionals would view the trees as just being trees.
  15. I think that is more than a little harsh...... ....... after all, the Harry Potter train!!!
  16. Interesting idea, but I can't see how you would get it on without messing about with red stitching though.

The lengths people will go to....... ...... to get away from a '201'
  18. I keep mine in a pocket as it keeps it out of the way. It contains: some manky plasters (been in the washing machine, I think) A fox40 whistle. A Opinel knife with a rusty blade (washing machine again). Two reels of thread (to fix trousers) A needle (for use with thread) A large wound dressing (Can't work out if it has expired as the printing is too faint - yep, been through the washing machine). Somewhere between £20 and £200. I guess if I took the kit out of my chainsaw trousers and attached it to my Harness, it all wouldn't spend so much time in the washing machine, but then again, the harness goes through the washing machine every now and again as well!
  19. Pictures... Yep, that pretty much sums it up! What are your thoughts Dominic?
  20. .......and there was me thinking that the BBC had staged the whole thing just to reassure everyone that the Top Gear was still as 'naughty' as it ever was.....
  21. Well, yes..... And that But only if you invested in a 201
  22. I suppose (on balance) there is one thing in favour of the 201, and that is this...... The first examples were so utterly pathetic, that even in pre-production testing it became apparent that drastic action was required to avoid becoming a laughing stock. That drastic action turned out to be development of a low profile 3/8 Full Chisel chain. Of course, slapping one of them on the 200 has made it even better again........Cheers Stihl
