  1. It's warning you bout who's on here:laugh1:
  2. Silky prototype. Yep your spot on, wouldn't do for us all to be the same.
  3. Scrap that, I got my fox and bear mixed up. Been hard day, just did another weeks work in 3 days. Silky knows.
  4. SAMURAI FOX has a ring to it. Or even worse,:laugh1:You could be sat on a glasier mint
  5. Got it:thumbup1:
  6. Still confused,Mr gray said if he's using his own kit and has his own insurance and invoices you for work completed you don't need E L.
  7. What you or the saw? Just think if you could't afford a silky you could have been called SAMURAI
  8. So say then for instance you get a job to take down 2 large trees you get a climber in and using his own kit he does one and you do the other one.? It's your job and you just pay him his day rate. How does that work out:confused1:
  9. Sounds like a right gray area for us simple folk who cut down trees:001_rolleyes:
  10. Been using Trojans for a while, good saws but fancied a change so went for a SAMURAI holy crap what saw just as good as any silky but not anywhere near as expensive.
  11. What is the cost of this kind of insurance and do you legally need it no matter if you use a subcontractor climber/groundsman once a year or every week of the year?
  12. Easy answer no ifs or buts 2 days, 2 people,300 miles round trip over 2 days. £1,000. Just don't under price your self and be a bust fool,we've all done it but have learned from it. Price it as above and depending who you get and what price for 2nd climber/ groundsman you could clear £500 to £600.
  13. To late now but never ever take any prospective clients word that they have checked anything to do with trees, acess, boundaries etc. most times they are guessing or going by hear say. Depends if you have delt with your local tree officer in the past and know him or her. You might be lucky as trees not that big but could go either way. Prepare for the worst and see how it pans out. Could be an expensive lesson learned and I gueentee you will always check from now on.
  14. Am down with roland for my CS39 in a couple of weeks. Herd great reviews so didt bother going back up to Cannock.looking forward to it and stoping down with them aswell.
  15. Hi paul ,4th floor? Is is now called "silky Mandela" house:laugh1:
  16. At a guess from the pic and if it's had a reduction some time in the past I would say it's a "MORINDA SPRUCE" just may be.
  17. What colour and bark surface like?
  18. It sounds expensive and I spose it is at first but seems to work for me. I save wearing my old hi flex for conies,2 pairs,my engalbert Strauss for ground work and my new best arbortec for nice trees and easy climbs. Don't use my airstrems for ground work only for climbing. Have a couple of pairs of ranger boots for that.
  19. Just read your post and might be bit late or your already sorted but here's a number of the lad I use. His name is Nick he is based bromsgrove way. His number is 07976961140. He's always busy but give him a try.
  20. I have 3 pairs of chainsaw trousers and 2, pairs of climbing boots ( airstrems) and various chsinsaw boots and rotate using them. They all get equal wear but not constant and last for ages.
  21. Call in to the station and explain the ticket you have been given is incorrect statement REF: why the ticket was issued and your brakes etc not defective but your cable was not attached. You most likely still have to pay but at least for the correct fault. If it were me me I would definitely go and explain.
  22. I have, Twice Now so need two of them medal,s. Fair play on your new pad.noting like having your own space/place.
  23. All good jon, very busy had to work all weekend so just had a early day today. Have to tell silky I've done a weeks work in 3 days again. He'll love that:thumbup:
