  1. No worries Neil and not a problem, let us all know if and when you manage to find the right person that fits what you require.
  2. Think you seem to know exactly the kind of person you want and the wage calling and package you want to stick to. The advice given was just a personal view and in now way was ment to undermindi the way you run your business. we all have a different line on what to pay and the kind of people we like as employees as am sure you do. Hope you get sorted and I think just posting this thread you will get a lot of takers.
  3. That should have read, he needs to match that to attract someone.
  4. Me either but he can't find anyone so was just offering a bit of advice as to try something different to attract the kind of person he's looking for. And he did say subbies around his area are gharging £190 and some cases £250 a day so he needs to mchainsaw that to get someone.
  5. That's the point,he can't find anyone with the package he's offering. And with all due respect I doubt he would want someone who has been qualified for just a month. Most of us have been doing it for many years and have good work and people skills. Don't derail this tread please. The guy ask a simple question about what to pay someone and nothing to do with training time.thanks:thumbdown:
  6. Depends on what suits you an the guy you looking for,yes sounds a lot when you look at it that way but if you not supplying kit ect you could problem knock a few grand off that total. You got to pay for quality and offer something different to tempt the right staff. They represent you and what you stand for.
  7. £150 bout average what I pay £190 would want climber and brash dragged for that per day. And £250 I would want climber, brash dragged and chipper. £190/£250 that's very good money. I'am baseds in the Midlands.
  8. It's getting to the point with the more exspearianced guys you are looking for that the fact more money in there pocket means more then providing kit as a lot of guys have there own and prefer to buy when they feel like it. I would Regig your advert and offer more per day and leave the kit temptation. Try offering £170/£180 day rate. If you a foreman you want to be paid for the extra responsibility. I would be more tempted by the day rate/ weekly wage rather then the kit being provided. But that's just me. Good luck it's gor to be worth ago:thumbup:
