  1. Good little motor. Dad borrowed one. Reckon with a decent set of tyres would be useful for a lot of fishermen or field scenarios
  2. Overheads. With fame comes work, with work comes expansion and the need for people and big expensive stuff. Costs spiral. Hence ridicules quote. Was too small a job for him. Guys like that want big jobs. Small company with low overheads survive on little jobs and give better domestic quotes.
  3. Rip. helped make history cool and interesting for many
  4. Of course this would be a very cool toy
  5. I want to be ready for the zombies. Of course it would need unimog axles and a 5.7 hemi or a cummins
  6. I imagine that for a lot of people not in the know its little more than an extension of what they already do in their gardens; pruning, cutting back etc. They don't know that there are multiple certificates, licenses and expensive equipment needed. Its merely a case of "thats a bit much for me" and someone tells them that someone they know knows someone who's mate got a tree removed for just the wood.
  7. Teacher once said " we have 2 ears and one mouth for a reason"
  8. Better to live life and have something to forget than not live life and have nothing to remember.
  9. Exactly. And i am sure because of it he will trust you for work with more reward and probably mention you to other people. Often if you get someone when they have little experience you will keep them as clients for many years if you treat them with respect.
  10. Won't know if you reply sarcastically or rudely. They may sound cheeky but more likely ill-informed.
  11. Thing to remember that whilst you guys are experienced in these matters your clients aren't and may only know what other people have told them (right or wrong). Merely pointing out that the quoted cost of that type of removal would be £x with tree or £x without. Point out that the labour, machinery etc costs considerably more than the value of the wood. I don't think sarcasm or put downs is a particularly professional response nor is it likely to gain customers. Whereas an informative response politely delivered may get a response and future business.
  12. It depends on the tree i guess. Plenty of straight trunk, and thick boughs with good access then to the right person it would be worth doing for very little cash on top. Guess if you have the demand for the wood and maybe even a client waiting ....
  13. With you there. Pretty sure that all by itself could be sold in a sculpture shop
  14. Personally i worry about gm products. Supermarkets/retailers already manage to make what ought to be healthy food into rubbish with high salt and reduced taste. Giving them the opportunity to create foods that can be called something yet has very little relation to the traditional relative can only be a bad thing.
  15. Personally i would consider a light coat of sanding sealer. Then buff up.
  16. Stashed by an armed robber probably! Jeez
