  1. No doubt. Reducing plastic use is a good thing but replacing with something not fit for purpose isn't so great. Single use anything would be better avoided but making soggy paper cups for UK fast food outlets is not going to save any turtles at all is it? It may save the ones living on motorway embankments I guess because that seems to be where UK waste is chucked. Pissing in the wind when this goes on.
  2. Well the paper cups in KFC must be coming without the plastic lining as they go soggy and leak the following day. They are also seemingly making the straws out of recycled newspaper as they go soggy upon contact with liquid. In fact on foggy days I would expect them to be supplied almost in liquid form.
  3. A Stihl accessory designed to fit perfectly on a Husky. Cool.
  4. Uncle swore by plastic milk containers. Personally I buy the Quickfire ones off ebay in bulk. Use half a one at a time
  5. I think I have decided either KRPAN or Farmi, if any.
  6. Damned good chance it will, that is why they often have 5m long ropes to operate the winch, at least you are up to 5m away if it does.
  7. I've used a 10mm wire to pull things with a tractor (not winching, just pulling). You can break them but you have to be doing something a bit daft, tractor normally loses traction way before the cable breaks. What winch are you looking at? I am toying with the idea too. I have a load of 100' leylandii I would like to drop but only own the land one side. Was thinking a winch encourages them to go the right direction.
  8. No expert but you sure you are looking at pulling rather than lifting?
  9. Dad left his saw under hedge in field he was working in while he went up for a brew, 20 minutes later it was gone! Field in middle of nowhere, no houses for a mile and no obvious people around. It was our farm and I reckoned he lost it but we never did find it.
  10. In a previous life I grew 30-40 acres of it. Sold many an artic load of it into Yorkshire too!
  11. I guess there must be people out there with them or B&Q wouldn't stock them. I knew they did because I saw them on the shelf in there last time I went. Dad had his arc welder on one and just removed the smaller than 13 amp round pin sockets from my own house
  12. B&Q 15A White Plug | DIY at B&Q WWW.DIY.COM This 15A rewirable 3 pin plug is ideal to use with your every day home appliances.
  13. I regret selling mine. I have a Posch pto driven thing that is an absolute beast and can stall my 35 if I am being silly but do miss the simplicity of my Oxdale. Not on the 35 I might add.
  14. Not a legal expert but I think it is actually illegal to do so and you would be in the poo if someone was injured. The same would apply if it was an employee that was injured
  15. I went for the coarsest as it is the quickest. It is fine enough to make a nice clean cut. My reference to acres was to highlight the fact I prune a lot of apples, even if I only had a dozen I would say the Zubat. The fine blades are just too slow and don't really make a better job. The triangle shaped Bahco bow saws are not bad either tbh but get the finer blade pattern if you go that route (the one with all the teeth the same). Under £20 off eBay and make just as good a cut as a fine tooth Silky.
  16. I grow acres of apples for a living and have had all the saws you mention over the years. Get the Zubat, far and away the best one for the job.
  17. Exactly what I am doing with my new one.
  18. Have burned pretty much little other than leylandii for decades with no issue at all. Never had chimney swept either and didn't need it. It was always seasoned and dry though.
  19. They often assume there is a tracker fitted so park up for a few days to see if anyone comes looking. Happens all the time with Ag machinery. Drive around the area and you may spot it. Doesn't work so well if they have a shed to hide it in for a couple of weeks. Certainly worth putting it on as many local FB groups you can think of.
  20. So does everyone else though. There's hardly a street sign or gate that hasn't got cable ties on it these days. Just how does it possibly help a dog thief?
  21. If it was anywhere around here it would be interpreted as dognappers being rampant in the vicinity. In fact if anybody happens to read the post it will be assumed it was around here and Irish people in silver or white vans will be along shortly to steal your dos.
  22. Do you think I should leave the dogs in the house? I think you didn't ought to be telling your missus how to do things when she has a log pick in her hand. Maybe your missus is different to mine.
  23. This is the top benefit of them for me, nice and quiet. Smell of the chain oil is a major downer though, at least with a petrol saw it is masked by all the fumes.

Captain Tom raised well over £30million for the NHS and in return they gave him Covid.
