  1. Got one here, big goat willow on edge of pond, 20 ish years old and no changes I can think of and certainly nothing it hasn't experienced before without being harmed. I was surprised and even more surprised when you say you have some doing similar.
  2. I wrote 5 Mk1's off in my younger days (one at a time) Sold my last one about 10 years ago for £6k and I expect 2 years later it would have been worth double. That one had a very nice 2.1 litre pinto and twin 40's on a type 9, lovely car to drive and pulled like a train up to 120mph. Went all over Europe in it. A good mate of mine puts Cosworth engines in them and tells me that at 150 mph the front end starts to get a bit light. I admire what he does but 600 bhp in a Mk1 would terrify me.
  3. You want thrashing with a big stick just for putting a towbar on it never mind anything else! For now I will just say that shell would be £50k or more today.
  4. Have to burn if I want a shower, few smallish bits of leylandii does enough hot water. My shower is 22mm mains pressure with a big shower head, had a long shower and thought I would turn the temp up to use the rest of the water, scalded myself! Surprising how much hot water off just an armful of logs.
  5. So this guy gets some professionals in to do some tree work and between them they negotiate a rate for three days work, on the second day of work these professionals get a piece of their machinery stuck and have to pay out £650 to recover their machinery and you are asking if the guy should pay them for that day even though they didn't do any work for him?
  6. If only
  7. Bitcoin has lost 30% of its value in the last 10 days because China and Musk have banned/dumped it.
  8. Overrun with pheasants and rabbits and the b*****d fox still decided to kill another of my geese last night.
  9. Always used to put cotton along the rows to keep sparrows off.
  10. I forgot to measure until today, biggest I could find was more like 30” at a push. still big mind.
  11. 4PC 1500lbs per Each Car Tire Skates Tire/Wheel Dolly Ball Bearing Skate Dollies WWW.EBAY.CO.UK This type of tire wheel dolly is made from solid diamond plate steel with tough protective coated finish. Its 4 wheels can easy roll 360 degrees with much less force than is required with... One on each corner, container weighs about 2 ton (it says on them the tare weight). Stick them back on ebay when you are done and get most of it back
  12. I've got leylandii that are circa 45 years old with DBH 36", may even be bigger. I'm going to measure tomorrow now.

Everyone is getting their nails and hair done ready for the pub on Monday.
  14. Take the old belt to an Agricultural tractor/machinery dealer. I appreciate it is not online but they will sort him out and very often off the shelf
  15. If it was really old it probably contained chemicals that have subsequently been banned. New stuff doesn't work so well.
  16. Standard practice to dump it somewhere and return later. Lets them know if trackers are fitted or not. Also standard practice for the police not to give a flying fig.
  17. A strange thing about memory is that I can remember the registration number of my parents car 50 odd years ago when I was about 7 yet I haven't the faintest idea what my own number plate is on the vehicle I drive today. No doubt others will come along and say it is exactly the same for them. I bet they haven't got private plates though.
  18. Get her to bring it in then My missus carts the logs indoors not me.
  19. Having lived in a static for over 2 years (and two winters!) we moved into the house a fortnight ago. In my new house I have a new wood fired range cooker that does all heating and hot water. I have had it going flat out morning noon and night ever since! Just love it. Being able to have scalding hot showers is something I have been dreaming of for a very long time. Also installed an oil boiler for back up but that isn't even turned on. In the lounge there is a 5KW log burner, jeepers that makes it nothing more than sitting in your underpants hot. I tell the missus the deal is I will always make sure there are dry logs to burn and will never complain how many she uses. Not many folk can tell the missus to have the heating on as much as she likes.
  20. I have acquired loads of "stuff" over the years. Generally I pride myself of knowing exactly where each random item is however from time to time I came across things I forgot I even had and there are plenty of times I can't find an object I know I have. Is it not the same with peoples names etc? They are in your head somewhere but you just can't lay your hands on them so to speak. I am a lot better with finding stuff than names. I regularly forget a name within minutes of being told (I actually find it embarrassing as calling someone by the wrong name is pretty insulting in my opinion) Not sure if I am getting worse or not but regularly can't remember the name of something or can't think of a word I want to use. I'm 57, not sure if it is changing but I know I don't care much about it. Maybe I should.
  21. Last year was an exceptionally good year for outdoor tomatoes, this one might be too but don't bank on it so far.
  22. Frost has scorched my toms this last week in my poly tunnel. I don't think it has been doing my apple blossom much good either. Frostiest April since they started recording in the 60's and my apples have been trying to blossom for most of it.
  23. I wouldn't eat a snail either, answer the question.
  24. It would be a good thing if everybody just ignored it, that is what should happen.
