  1. Nice flower pot. How long have you had the red & black garden ornament?
  2. Started out dull and cool, so perfect for working outdoors. But the sun made an early appearance, which made for a hot day. Had a few showers, which a lasted less than 30secs. Now it's drizzling and has been for 10mins., enough to fill the water butts but I suspect it won't come to much.
  3. Either way, he a luck luck b...... for that price.
  4. Castration is too good for some people.
  5. The poor sod; he must be gutted.

    346xp :-/

Most people ruin screwdrivers when opening paint cans. Never tried opening one with a chainsaw and now having seen the result, I doubt I'll be giving it a go. Decorating can be costly.
  7. Ok, a 555 could come in useful. But man cannot live on fumes alone; even if they are Aspen.
  8. Had a fresh breeze with plenty of sunshine and scattered cloud with bases at about 5-8,000ft. Made for a bouncy ride at times but it had its moments. A relaxing day on the water, (and in it while I untangled rope from the prop).
  9. Think mine would be, meeting a friendly native within a very short while. Who new his beans, roots, leaves & stalks and where to get safe drinking water.
  10. If you need 18" or more, get the 365. I've got a 545 and am very happy with it on 15" but I reckon that though Husky say it can take 18", that it would be 3" too long for the saw.
  11. When I finished the RA, the suggested course of action, was to avoid such actions that would put me in such a situation at all.
  12. Try a gander through these: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=32947 http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=72386 http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=47208 http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=46680
  13. So, before last week then. Anyway, back to the present. Just started started, big drops of falling water but not much of it and now it's ceased. If today is like yesterday, there'll be high cloud and more sunshine than you could carry in a very large bag. And late evening, there'll be a light shower. Even if one ran around catching every drop, it probably wouldn't fill a shirt pocket. Apart from the absence of large depressions in the landscape, to keep the lack of rain. I'm not surprised they don't have reservoirs in this part of the world. Good for those owning a parasol - not much good for those owning an umbrella. I can see the advert now. 46yr. old umbrella, excellent condition, as has never been needed for primary use. Price when new £1 3s 4d. Free for local collection, as instruction may be needed.
  14. 3min. shower this morning and back to boiling. Perhaps a taller sacrifice next time.
  15. He's got his hands the wrong way round, i.e left hand on rear hand, etc. And he's levering the saw rather drastically. Maybe he needs to sharpen the chain. But the most shocking thing, is the motion that this could be the worst film made. That dubious honour must surely go to 'Basket Case 2'. Basket Case was the worst film I've ever seen all the way through. The second in the series of three, is more of the same but amazingly worse. To have sat through one and partly viewed another is bad enough but no one soul should be damned enough, to have to view three such abysmal films in one lifetime. A worse case of a waste of cellulose I cannot imagine

    favourite tea

Can't remember its name right now but seem to remember it's classed as a white tea. Only been able to drink it, when I've been given small quantity as present on two occasions. Did once find an importer who would sell direct to a UK buyer. But minimum order was 95Lbs. dry weight and it's approx. £80 plus per pound weight wholesale but inc. of all taxes and delivery. When it's dry, it's a dark green sphere about 5-8mm dia. Put in hot water and it unwinds to resemble a six legged green spider. 4-8 pieces will make maybe 2pts. But three drinkable infusions can be got from the same pieces. Maybe 4pts. in all. If you're wondering about retail and prices. As far as I know, the tea is only readily available in parts of China and its territories. It retails dry per pound for approx. £110 to £180 depending on quality. Second choice would be almost any Indian tea except Yorkshire and the the Chinese gunpowder teas. Both of which are akin to chewing oak bark. Yorkshire I'm sure has had many good exports; tea is not one of them.
  18. Amazing adaptation to prevailing conditions.
  19. I could watch that guy all day. A few tools and a great deal of skill.

    8x8 arb truck

Like a Lego truck on steroids.
  21. I notice many millers buy the saw but never use the stock 'no sprocket nose' bar. Instead, they sell the supplied bar for £280+ and buy a sprocket nose Sugi Hara for around £220. Make some money and get a better milling bar - have your cake and eating it.
  22. Yesterday started boiling, then turned to mild and finished chilly. But the birthday party BBQ went without a hitch.
  23. ... and it's 07:30. It's not classed as a building site, so isn't governed by that stipulation. The pavement being block was immediately outside my sister's place. This guy lives a few door down and on the opposite side. The smell of diesel from a lorry on tickover is unbearable and he's going to report us to the LA. During the lift, the refuse collection arrives and easily gets by, as does a removals truck. Oh and his neighbour is going to miss his holiday flight because of the work. So he is going to sue us too. After the lift is complete, brother-in-law goes across the road to apologise about a missed flight and offers to pay any expenses. Only to find, that he could have easily got out anytime he wanted and the family are driving to the Lake District. He then goes to Mr. Grumpy and complains to him, that he's been stirring the pot with some good neighbours, (us) and could he keep his nose out of it.
  24. Not arb related but building. Sister and family are having an extension done at the back. Garden is hemmed in by other gardens. Cut a long story short, two decent sized I-beams were moved in by hand some weeks ago. But two considerably more hefty ones arrived three days ago. As part of the build, the use of a Hiab was needed to place the second two from lorry and over house. So at some point after initial manoeuvring of lorry & Hiab. There's one of the 7.2m I-beams hanging in the air directly above the the house, when from nowhere this guy turns up in his pyjamas and slippers and lays it on the line. We're blocking the pavement, we're making too much noise, as a building site we're not allowed to start before 08:00
  25. You're a bad man Eddy - but funny.
