  1. as other posts its a MAC saw sold by the sheds. neigbour has the eletric model of of it so must come from china. as for spare parts GTR may be able to get it going for you. it anoys me they sell these things then when they go wrong can not get the bits so most buy a new unit still thats how the sheds are as big as they are buy dirt cheap sell for a good markup. then sell you a new one when it fails. hope you can get it fixed
  2. i have posted before get hold of your country watch team let them have the photo,s i believe you will have more joy with them than reporting it to the local police. country watch may not be able to do much at this time but it will be on there records and they may know who they are and have just been waiting for that vital bit of evidence to knock on there door
  3. native hedging good market for it plus side line planting it for customers. only needs to be 40 to 60cm whips those that do not sell grow on to be 90 to 120cm whips. such a variety of species to grow unlike just one lyandi
  4. have to say the ipad has got some clever things. a lot better than photoshop. bit old hat now. got me thinking need to have a look at what you can do with photos and have a play
  5. i said it may be james then when he becomes king will be james the 3rd. trouble is my lot fought the first one at the battle of sedgemoor. but i did fight on the side of the royalists in the English civil war:confused1: let you think on that was a comptroller of the artillery
  6. ash,beech.elm. and hawthorn, blackthorn when i am laying hedges. and plenty of hazel. customers not keen as it is small when split. but very good firewood
  7. well see and hear of all this arb gear being nicked. well doing a job building a wall for a horse trough. we put 8 bags of sand behind trough. came back a few days later with bricks 4 bags had been nicked. i know its only £12 but though sand would be ok as not worth much. seems anything is worth nicking:thumbdown:

    Damn!

in the old days of the british bike if it did not leak oil then something was wrong with it see LR are carrying on the tradition . had two discos and always something wrong with them. got rid of them. and bought a nissan d22. and that blew up its engine due to wrong parts put in by the spanish. but apart from that touch wood it is a cracking truck. the LR could be so good if they only came into the modern times. and not stick with something from the second world war. when i say LR the defenders not the chelsea tractor that the disco and range rover have become. if the defender had the comfort of a jap. a chassis which has been galvanized. and the cobra engine be a good truck. make the japs look up.
  9. fires now springing up every where fire service being streched to cope with fires on heathland.commonland some of the fires are not big to start. soap box again. why can they not get Chinooks in with water baskets to drop on the fires. allways practicing up this way use this for training moving heavy loads. thats sense and those who can make it happen have not got any.
  10. like all schemes run by governments. have not a clue how to run, manage them. wind,solar.hydro. all a minefield to get started in to produce electric cheap. then they announce they are giving the shale gas explores tax breaks to look for gas. once again giving tax payers money to those who have plenty. instead of help to you and others who want to run sustainable power. if i could get a grant i would have a wind turbine.biomass boiler in tomorrow.but at present the cost to set up i could never afford to do it. maybe the biomass i may just be able to save up but as for wind 20k for a turbine not a goer. the government has missed the boat on this
  11. went to a customer i do every two weeks grass has not grown, so did not need cuttinng so dug the borders but that was as hard as concrete. she has nnot watered surprised any of her plants are growing time to do a churchyard. can see that being brown as 90% moss. my lawns are going brown not cut them for 4 weeks. go back to end of may was growing mad unable to keep on top of it as growing so fast. weeds still growing so strimmer still in action.
  12. i see that Europe have water tankers which can skin over water collecting large amounts of water to drop on fires. maybe one should be on standby at Bournemouth to go into action. lets hope the idiots do not come out to cause havoc. but find better things to do. mindless when they do get hold of them send them down for a long time i smoke and at present have a bottle with fluid in bottom to put fags in to kill them. will not think of discarding a lighted fag from window even in winter.
  13. how old is hedge sorry to hijack thread but if young hedge eg 15 years how about laying it will thicken it up good and should be able to get a grant to lay it.
  14. +2 could not think of the name of them seen one in action on clay had to do a couple of passes to break it down fine but made a good job
  15. that the trouble is all the rare or not so rare species of snakes lizards birds etc which perish in the flames. i know its not human rights. but if they do catch them. then maybe the magistrate should make them do volunteer work putting out the fires that there friends light. maybe the message may get home. or put them in stocks in poole. nice rotten fruit order of the day
  16. was waiting for it to happen. that the idiots would be out causing mindless damage to a native heathland. can not understand. i know we do not get that many or that big a fire. but why can there not be a water tanker aircraft be available to drop on these fires the amount dropped would put most out in no time saving on cost risk of injuries to fire personnel etc. must have something in this country. that can be hired. or do we not have anything in this country only abroad.
  17. as other posts. look in at your local recycling centre see if they sell mowers. see if you can find a mountfield, haytor,Honda. with roller if you can get one and grass box. will need some work. but if minor work will get a good mower cheap. and as the old style built better than the new ones. unless you want to pay good money for a semi pro model.

  21. just ordered a pump come filter for pool have the stuff to add to kill the algae. first time we have done this and already finding mods for it. but it was cheap bur very successful every one enjoying them self. looks like the arb boys we know have said coming up after work to cool down after a day in ppe weather set fair to end of week.
  22. well went and got the proper chemicals from pool shop put some in this morning plus tested ph levels and all norm. as for kids getting out. allway a adult on hand and not allowed in unless adults in pool to supervise. plus have a step in pool to get out. water is starting to warm up alrady so may go for a swim in a bit.

  24. me in a mankini do you want the site shut down. will get some photo,s on camera. after just swimming i am so better relaxed and much cooler, did not need a towel just got out and dry in seconds. weather is cracking. makes up for the winter we had. just trust the fires stay away on the heath lands. my only concern with weather at present.
  25. well due to hot weather we wanted a dip son in law saw on face book a pool made from straw bales and black plastic. so off we went picked up 12 hestion bales of straw, the black plastic for covering silage now have a pool 25ft long by 10ft wide 4 ft deep. strapped around the outside to keep bales in place one good swimming pool. been having a good swim today, and ready for tomorrow. to buy a pool aprox £1500 second hand cost us with bits £200. and good exercise. having a pool party, few good friends over BBQ and a beer.
