  2. It's an ancient canadian pioneer or partner - haven't identified it yet. Have measured knackered chain and I make it: 51Drive Links 1.5mm Gauge .404 Pitch ( half gap between 3 rivets = 10.25mm - so I'm thinking .404 - is that right?) Am assuming I can't just use a 3/8" pitch chain without changing the sprocket?? so that's not going to happen. Can't seem to find this chain on the bay - any ideas? Cheers

  8. The heat from the bead is doing the job of expanding/popping the bearing? The washer is so you can have something to hit from the other side? So it must be smaller dia than bearing to allow for welding?

  14. 2p worth. I would have thought if crank case was ruptured smoking would be the least of your problems.sure it's not leaking onto the muffler somehow? What oil fuel ratio do you use?

  16. I've got a trusty stihl t27, gedore t25 and facom allen T's - good investment. Have a few Aldi but had a couple of them break.
  17. I'm no expert but wondered if it was drawing air in at the join of carb and engine.Can't picture that set up but easy to test by squirting a bit of wd 40 around the mating surface during running.
  18. Some machines need choke even if they're hot I have an FS200 that's like that

  20. Can anybody tell me intake and exhaust clearances for this 4 stroke strimmer please - carb ultra cleaned - bogs at WOT and seems to backfire slightly through carb.Thanks.
  21. There's a steel/tin / silver flat plate on the inside.Definitely pops out but can't remember how without pics.
  22. Fuel starvation it was! Cheers chaps, spot on diagnosis, really appreciate your help. Was convinced ignition was playing up. Saved a few bob. Had carb off again thought maybe it was the float bowl pin dragging a bit so emeryd that then took that fuel tap off. See pic for the issue. Runs like a gentle giant , no screaming and masses of torque. Becoming a kawasaki fan.
