  1. I concur parts if available from solent tools - Unit 009 343 Millbrook Rd W, Southampton, Hampshire SO15 0HW 023 8057 8057 i wouldn't hold my breath though - these saws seem to be disposable - i have one needing a chain brake band and have left it with them to call me if one is ever available without having to buy the whole chain brake unit for 30 odd quid.
  2. my monies on adjustment of the low screw
  3. cheers rich - does it run? dunno yet - but i'm guessing it will - if there's gonna be a prob finding a clutch cover chain brake combo maybe i'll re-assess it's fate with me - but there's definitely something about it i like.
  4. cheers eddie i'll have to check ipls of the 2 to see if it'd fit? ta
  5. New acquisition Don't know much about this saw - 020AVP Super Electronic 'professional'. Missing a clutch cover and bar stud and I dare say a few other bits. Any opinions on this saw? Has compression (not measured yet) and a decent spark. Have read that the engine is a bit of a monkey to get to? Is that what you mean Spud when you talk about a clam shell design? Is that a chain brake mechanism? If so how does it work? Any other look out for this's appreciated.
  6. home made puller - 3 high tensile bolts / screws - worked a treat on TS350. Clutch needle bearing unseized and clutch side crank seal replaced( a first!), new filters arrived. Just waiting for a replacement kill switch - lucky this is for me - spent 2 hours trying to get an £8 switch to function - sometimes you just can't let go!

http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsaws/59535-how-much-oil-should-visible-flung-out.html Try here - these guys helped me out 3 weeks ago - thanks again folks
  11. metering lever height I'd guess - not set correctly - what carb on it?
  12. yeh cheers dan - can see that now - guess i'll try to figure out how to make a puller - not sure that £30 quids worth of tool is gonna get much more use. thanks
  13. TS350 - getting there - fuel tank cleaned. Carb off and US'd - what a monster Tillotson carb. Fired it up - clutch wouldn't disengage - opened up - only clutch shoe left on one pad. So will either have to replace the pads or invest in anew clutch? HELP - can't work out how to get the clutch off? theres a sleeve still attached to the crankshaft above the clutch. This is for all intents and purposes a Stihl 08 as far as i can see - haven't been able to track down a service manual for an 08. Any idea how I get this clutch off? cheers

  15. Would love to do one of these nova jobs one day - as it happens after much fun got the flywheel off and then had an hours archaeology chipping concrete away from ancient points. They were cemented in. Got totally stumped - seemed to be no cam on the crank- a million imaginations of where it could've gone - then looked inside the inner flywheel / magnet unit and there was a cam'd sleeve in there. . Re- insulated a broken kill switch wire and off into the darkest corner of the workshop - pulled over - BINGO - one of the strongest big blue sparks I've ever seen. re:geography - I thought Gardenkit hailed from Tennessee - so i'm guessing you're a Mississipi boy. and I think he used a pound sign instead of dollars - thanks Barrie
  16. thank god we've got some obsessives - in the best sense of the word - i shall sleep a little wiser - cheers spud (aka the whats on your bench museum guide who never has a day off )
  17. started cleaning the carb and yep the choke has started to jam - loads of wd40 and fiddling and it just seems to be getting tighter - spring won't pull it back ????
  18. I've absolutely no idea what you're talking about wise but I'll remove the flywheel tomorrow and have a shufty - then i dare say this will make some sense to me - much appreciated. mike
  19. anyone got a service manual for this ts350 super?
  20. and don't you just love them chinese engines - they drove me round the bend a few months ago - without any handle bar adjustment
  21. nice one amfell - cheers - re: points or electronic - any idea how i date it - its a TS350 Super struggling to get that cone off right now edit - i suppose i can just get the flywheel off
  22. My second concrete saw - enjoying these. All this chainsaw learning very transferable. Sadly neglected TS350 - sat in a barn for 4 years when it was allegedly running.. Non-runner - no spark, will investigate tomorrow. Thought it was points but apparently electronic unit under the flywheel. Maybe there's a shortsomewhere or the spark plug fitting is faulty. Clutch seems seized as blade turns when flywheel rotated. Haven't looked at the carb yet. I'll be keeping this so nice little project. If anybodys been here before with a TS350 any pointers appreciated. Exhaust off and piston looks immaculate - 95psi compression - not sure where that stands with one of these.
