  1. Earliest I've heard is September, but the easiest way to find out is to ring Stihl and ask if they have the IPL's yet
  2. No, only in Germany currently
  3. IF husky let them remember, husky owns the m-tronic
  4. You would!
  5. Dolmar is makita, it's just a different badge and colour. In regards to boots, an alternative option is spats, which are chainsaw protective covers for boots, assuming you wear actual boots and not riggers.
  6. PPE suggestions aside, although nobody has mentioned a helmet?! If you're going to be doing smallish logs <14" a husky 135 or Stihl 211 (or whatever the dol/mak is called), next jump up is 50-60cc for up to 18" - husky 545 or 555, Stihl 291-391 (no!) or mak/dol equivalent, finally for big stuff there's the husky 365, beast of a machine, neither of the other two make an equivalent model for semi-pro afaik
  7. Now you just need dog spikes and a chain catcher!
  8. I did say many! That's one in several thousand
  9. Don't think he's gonna find many mango tree experts on arbtalk! The closest we get is a few guys who know about apples and pears, usually the fermented kind...
  10. Stihl is same gauge, .068, from the 261 to the 880.
  11. 090! No ifs, at 137cc, buy it, they're rare as hell and will hold at that value (or go up again)
  12. Christ! The distance people will travel for a job! I'd go heavy reduction with a MEWP. Once you factor in fuel costs from Sheffield, you'll be a millionaire!
  13. Usually the old Stihl disc cutters were assembled with full chainsaw parts and changed over in the factory, usually at most they removed the pinion gear
  14. Out of interest, have you checked to see if the saw is oiling the chain?
  15. Interesting
  16. You can still buy it
  17. Have you got the little metal deflector plate fitted?
  18. The dividers are in the boot and elbow niko, nowt inside the carb! The carb bolts straight on, I just had to mod the filter elbow a little for clearance on the choke butterfly. The larger Venturi helps ported saws run bigger bars (I run 36") as it sucks less fuel in. To the OP, 3/8 8t will be the biggest sprocket you'll get without ordering a piltz rim off eBay - I know one company that does order a load in for their 390's, but the saws are otherwise un-modded.
  19. As a note: chisel chain, whilst being more aggressive, requires less power as it only has a single point of cut (the tip), whereas semi or chamfer chisel cuts on a much larger area, requiring more power, thus causing more strain on a saw. To answer your 3rd question, the design is almost identical, the carb and electronics will be the only different parts. I have a 441 IPL that doesn't have m-tronic, the only difference I can see is the coil and carb. Finally, the carb resets every time the switch is put to initial startup.
  20. The 372xpg is NLA in the UK, but if you email husky, they may bring it back.
  21. I've had 60% of the value of a part added as import tax. That's happened more than once too!
  22. And that is probably why the OP asked for a husky alternative! Import tax is a sting on certain parts!
  23. Wrong thread! The jokes thread is a sticky on the general topic forum. The OP asked if husky did a similar carb for a similar saw, the answer is no, and thus an attempt to find a carb with suitable features as a replacement is being attempted to be quantified by the features of the original.
  24. 550 is small spline, it can't take standard spline. 3/8 on 8t is only available on standard spline.
  25. You wouldn't!
