  1. To be fair all my saws leave a puddle of oil if they're left in a warm place, I assume they don't have breathers on chain oil tanks? As when low on oil the 346 seals tight, and leaving the 385 leaves a lake of oil
  2. Seconded! Nowt better than the Swedish stuff!
  3. Good vid, what were the times, 460 seemed faster, and sounded better, video was made much better by the presence of the husqy guide bar
  4. And here's another one NEW LOGGING SAW HUSQVARNA 365 GAS PETROL CHAINSAW 65CC 20" BAR + FREE SHIPPING | eBay
  5. It's missing the grey bit of plastic on the right side at the bottom of the front handle, all the air injection stuff on the sticker, the safety sticker spaces are wrong, so is the rear handle, the husqvarna stuff on the bar, the rear handle is different, the air filter cover, chainbreak handle left side, the box, the cylinder cover on the left side, and I'm sure the rpm spec is wrong, best ask spud on that one
  6. It could possibly suck crap into the engine and scratch the cylinder and piston
  7. Sounds like your ground staff need a retune and service, maybe they're a bit clogged up, I usually find something heavy fixes em
  8. Yeah, I've switched to aspen now, on the same note, my 3rd saw ran fine on the same mix, I chalked it down to crap fuel and old saws that were running a bit lean
  9. I'd never had a problem with a chainsaw till 2 of mine seized in quick succession, there's always the day when the unexpected breaks first
  10. Not now I couldn't, 2 years ago I could have, but I'd give it a damn good go, and as I said, the old stuff was fantastic, it's just the new, over complex stuff, but that's the way the world works, eliminate the bloke who fixes them as a hobby. Once I get fit again, I'll hold ya to that last statement And atleast I'm not the only one who thinks is sounds like a fart
  11. Oh, I do, I've just had more practice with a hand pole pruner, and I got good with em
  12. Nah air filter is clean, it's either carb or the valves, they don't pay me enough to tweak the carb, and I don't know enough bout timing to touch that, I prefer the older stihl stuff, before they choked the power with emissions laws, but over all I prefer a silky on a stick, cuts just as fast if you know how
  13. Second hand, as that will keep the cost down, and the older engines are easier to maintain
  14. Had nothing but problems with the works one, pig to start, keeps cutting out on tick over, head occasionally swivels
  15. Don't buy HT101 or 131 by stihl, they're crap
  16. Eddy_t

    Soaked!

Strip and clean carb and air filter, remove muffler and put on radiator, remove spark plug, check you get a spark, check cylinder and piston for water, drain fuel tank and replace filter, and try not to fall in any more ditches
  17. That's the £20 one I bought at maplin
  18. Judging by someone saying max time is 3 mins I recon it would be awkward for a really crapped up carb, but I recon it should be ok, their electrical stuff is usually sound, it's when they make saws for the gypsies to weigh in the fun starts
  19. Rich, maplin do a us cleaner for £30, with max time of 8 mins, if the aldi one isn't quite as good as you hope
  20. As long as the batteries are run flat before recharging then they tend to remain the full battery life, but if they are stuck back on charge before it will eventually loose power, and Li-ion are much better than NiMH by far
  21. Could you get wouter to run it against a 200t, as I recon it just might outcut the 200t, but I will point out before anyone bites, MIGHT!
  22. And that is the Dutch arborist Although I think you used it on a power save mode didn't you treespotter?
  23. We pipe most of our gas and oil from Norway, as they have little need for it, as they use mostly hydro power, we could in theory get our electricity from that instead
  24. One of the Dutch arbs put a vid of a dismantle of a pine with one in a previous thread
  25. What the hell have you done to it for the chain to go that fast?! And whilst it doesn't mean it will out-cut under pressure, what it does mean is that on the pull under its own weight it will, as the chain has a cutting edge, and the faster it goes round, the faster it cuts!
