This I understand, and you and David H have my upmost respect in your work, I hope one day I am even half as good as you both in basic tree management and conservational tree management, IMO the work you did at the beginning of this thread looked perfectly reasonable, you could have gone a lot harsher! I think we as arbs forget how resilient trees are, how much punishment they can take, and yes, two years is perfectly reasonable, but I would have liked to see the first year, I always feel you can spot where you can next work upon after seeing the first regrowth, I would say the tree seems to have a denser regrowth and a better shape now Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App -
Haha no worries, we forget with tree care that other stuff other than us and the trees themselves require the tree to survive, when we decide that a broken limb is unsightly, or a hollow in the tree means it should be removed, whilst the birds and bats loose their homes, or the fungi has nothing to feed on and becomes confined to a handful of trees!
