  11. This I understand, and you and David H have my upmost respect in your work, I hope one day I am even half as good as you both in basic tree management and conservational tree management, IMO the work you did at the beginning of this thread looked perfectly reasonable, you could have gone a lot harsher! I think we as arbs forget how resilient trees are, how much punishment they can take, and yes, two years is perfectly reasonable, but I would have liked to see the first year, I always feel you can spot where you can next work upon after seeing the first regrowth, I would say the tree seems to have a denser regrowth and a better shape now Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Haha no worries, we forget with tree care that other stuff other than us and the trees themselves require the tree to survive, when we decide that a broken limb is unsightly, or a hollow in the tree means it should be removed, whilst the birds and bats loose their homes, or the fungi has nothing to feed on and becomes confined to a handful of trees! 13. Patience comes with age, much YOU have appeared to have gained since the 1st post... Where as I am youthful and have less of a concept of it As for tree time, nobody has the mentality or conception to fathom this properly, only by looking at what is already done can we get a rough idea of what we aim for Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. That was a bloody long thread, can't believe it took you two years for an after shot, looks much better now than the original tree before pruning, ya might have to get back up there! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

    Laying turf

4 days to lay 440m3, that's quite a long time, should be able to do it in 2/3 tops, you don't wanna leave it rolled up too long. As for rotorvating, what's the soil? Clay will take longer Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  25. Ah, tell em ya checking it, and I don't mean ones where you have to go out of your way, marching across a land owners fields for a tree slap bang in the middle. I mean like climb a tree in some local woods with plenty of access, round where I live it's all forestry land, or public access, so anything is fair game, although round here, if you trespass and climb someone's tree, they will likely want you to prune it 'while you're up there' Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
