  3. Or.... Replace the cap with a flippy one only when your old bog standard screwy one gets lost, breaks or the combi spanner slips when trying to open one time too many! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. There is no legislation that says you must match the chain speed of the saw to the ppe....if that were the case we would all be wearing class 1 or 2 gloves! Dont bother with class 2 trousers unless your employer requires them. Compared to class 1: The fit is not as nice, heavier, hotter when working and feels like you have a 15 tog duvet wrapped around your legs. (great if you want to enter a shin kicking contest though lol) Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  8. There is another issue here also, it is irresponsible for the seller to offer a top handle saw available via ebay. Whether we agree with stihls policy or not, what is clear is the code of conduct by all major saw manufacturers to limit the sales of TH saws to the trained professional only. There is a real risk that these saws will be banned because of sellers like this making a few quid selling this saw online. If they want to sell an 880 to a 10yr old with his dads credit card well thats his dads problem for letting him get hold of his credit card lol... But the banning of TH saws will have major repercussions for us all. Thats my rant over!! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  18. How about mounting on a trolley with the machine cutter able to be set higher in graduations to allow for limited bar length versus high hedges. Nice big wheels for easy pushing and self vertical levelling by means of a weighted arm to account for terrain changes. Hmmmm dragons den appearance looming on the horizon lol Anybody familiar patent application process Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

    353 husky

The 353 was never an xp saw. Its current equivalent is the 545...a down spec version of the 550. Its a great saw but a little dated if its on sale at a great price then go for it but otherwise would choose the 545...better performance with more bells and whistles... See what price you can get one of those first. There are Some great offers on 550 and 560, might not be that much difference on price against a 353 or even 545 and they are full fat and tasty rather than low calorie lol Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

    550 xp

Are you really working in different locations with an altitude difference of a thousand feet?? Thats a heck of a lot! You dont need to get too hung up on the calibration. It sorts itself out and the difference in adjustment is quite small. Im not very familiar with m-tronic but it used to be the case (may be different now so anyone wiser than me please chip in lol), but m-tronic only controls the high jet whereas autotune is controlling the idle and low jet also. If you do feel the need to recalibrate the saw but dont have a larger diameter log, just do an end grain bore cut to full depth...is the same affect .... You just need to run the saw under load. Just use and enjoy...550 is awesome for its cc. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Hmmm... Mineral or veg? Take it back and complain... Might get a free one unless u have had it 10 years! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
