  2. Bah I know they arnt completely healthy but I'm struggling to give up an when I do get a good disposable one it works well so gonna give it a go, got to be healthier than the real thing Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. Cheers for the feedback, shall be giving the itaste vv a go as soon as I'm home Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. I most certainly will do , I'm fairly new to carving so no guarantees it's gonna be very good but i really enjoy it and shall certainly be having a go. My biggest problem is getting the timber to carve Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. That looks great!! Hate to sound like a copycat but I'm gonna give this a go I think . Great work fella! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. In corfu at the moment on my hols and cannot help but look at all the olive and think how amazing they look and wonder why they grow like this Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. Hate to sound like a boff but didn't do my climbing ticket overly long ago and was told that legislation states that for use by an arborist min diameter rope is 10mm and min diameter friction chord is 8mm Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. Very good for first attempts mate, liking the detail for the feathers, I've done my first 2 barn owls in the past month and quite enjoying them, I won't post pics here and risk stealing the thread haha, keep it up fella Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. Excellent, will be ordering a sprocket for an echo as soon as possible , well pleased Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. I have a jo beau m500 which is amazing but a little out of budget I think. The cs100 would do you well and if you have the money and get in quick there's one on ebay at the moment http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251301209563?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Failing that, maybe have a look at the gtm pro? http://www.abbeygardensales.co.uk/subprod/commercial-chippers-0000510.aspx I have no experience with these so cannot vouch for them and will also probably get slated for suggesting them but personally I don't think they look bad for the money Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. Have been on and off of smoking for a while now and have been using a disposable electric cigarette from tesco and it's okay but doesn't always satisfy. Just wondered if anyone here uses any electric cigarette and does it work for them? If so what are you using? Thanks George
  12. I'm no expert as im fairly new to it all my self so don't take my word as gospel but off the top of my head you will need at least cs30,31,38,39 and chipper ticket, own climbing kit, saws, fuel and ppe, your own public liability insurance, experience with rigging would be beneficial and just generally a wealth of experience and knowledge of the trade. If your fresh out of college I would suggest ringing round and get your foot in the door as a subby groundsman/second climber with a couple of tree firms and work your way up from there. Excuse the punn but you need to work from the ground up so to speak. I've learnt more from just watching climbers than I ever thought I would and as a result my climbing ability has come on leaps and bounds despite not even doing a lot of climbing. With enough hard work, perseverance and determination you can and will achieve your goal. Wish you the best of luck and hope everything turns out as you want which I'm sure it will
  13. Surely a fishermans doesn't take 10"? It's only a couple of wraps around something smaller than my little finger and a tail? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. I shall get a pic as soon as I'm home and post it. I have what I believe is an 80cm armour prus e2e on my lanyard in the same configuration and its almost twice as long as the Marlowe braid vt. mist admit, I was surprised when I could get a vt out of a metre but seems to work Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. Might I add...I get virtually no sit back using this and it never fails to bite Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Might I add...I get virtually no sit back using this Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. Laugh all you like, it's true and it works well. Its 3 wraps 2 braids I believe and that's using 8mm Marlow braid friction chord with fishermans, I like it nice and compact an it's worked fine for the last 2 lengths, will get a pic as soon as I get home Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. I would tie your friction hitch first as I find I can get 3 vt's from 3 metres and as stated above for cutting
  19. I know a couple of blokes that use the rear handle 150 for carving and they love it. They just use the bar and chain that the saw came with
  20. Oh and nice vid by the way, really shows what these little saws are capable of, I couldn't be without the echo, don't even know its on your harness Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. I know I haven't got any where near as much experience as most of you so im only talking from my personal experience but I just use the silky for 3" and less, sometimes maybe even a little more than 3" and use my little echo (which is practically the same saw as the ms150t) for anything up to 8" or so, I don't really see the point in the extra cost of a saw if all your going to use it for is 3-4" timber, just seems like a waste of £300+ to do what you an do with a silky that's already on your harness
  22. Haha been racking my brains and resetting the page wondering why I couldn't shrink the page on the I phone till I read the little edit
  23. They certainly are, I payed 500 minus the moderator
  24. Used to shoot a lot when I lived in devon but don't do it any where near as much as I would like to now . Have 2 shotguns 1sbs and 1 o&u but my pride and joy is my Brno cz550 22.250, me opta scope, Harris bipod, and a moderator. best shot I ever made was at 530yds, not sure I'd make the same shot now mind haha
  25. It's a 2 year warranty apparantely? Or so my local dealer told me last night
