  1. did the very easy survey and actually suprised my self by realising that i know over 50 trees (after i wrote as many as i could think of down) i realy didnt think that i'd retained that much info. good survey and would love to see a website that was very in depth with photos and as much info as posible good luck rob
  2. hi everybody, fairly new to this but i have a problem and thought id see if anyone on here could help me out. i've had someone cut me some 3 1/2" hornbeam and i need a kilning service somewhere near slough. there will be about 10ft3 for a small kiln, doesnt matter how long it takes as long as its not rushed as hormbeanm is hard to find and i cant have this go wrong on me. please let me know if anyone knows of someone who can help me. 01628666191 the timber is currently in scotland so if anyone wants to collect it and kiln it up there then great. it can be shipped straight to you if needs be... Steve
  3. if your going to have any logs 3" + in diameter left over i'd be interested for woodturning. keep them as long as possible.
  4. just after i'd had my last trip to the denist. my lip was torn open and needed half a dozen stitches and my missing tooth was smashed in to the roof of my mouth. had stitches on my chin too... its amazing how well my lip healed but there is still a scar on my chin
  5. i havent figured out how to put a photo on yet??? it seemed to want me to put in a web address rather than browsing my computer for the image, any help...
  6. worst thing that hapened to me was whilst i was turning a large bowl at high speed i was polishing the inside and stood up in front of the bowl and it exploded... broke in to four or five bits which only seemed to hit me and nothing else the largest which comprised of half the bowl weighing nearly a kilo hit me in the gob doing nearly £3000 worth of damage... to top it off one bit hit me in the knackers at 150mph...

  15. i joined up because of things like people talking about greenheart for carving and they think its lignum vitae because thats what some people call it. its actually "chlorocardium rodiaei" not "guaiacum officinale" which is what lignum is, but thats just me being picky... i can see this site being quite usefull for contacts. i need hornbeam in large sections 7"x7" squares. anyone got any???
