  1. Reading between lines that woman has pain in the arse written all over. Wonder if guy who felled it gave up and bailed out.
  2. Measured bottom 6.3 on biggest tree today - 1.7m3 Didn't have phone on me to take pic unfortunately but believe me he was hairy
  3. In my opinion that's not gentle teasing and whatever the facts are it's you who isn't coming over well.
  4. Mort, make sure you cut vents in them before stacking as it really helps the timber dry. As for keeping them dry we just put a lid on the top one before stacking - make sure it's well secured as it's windy up there!
  5. Awkward site TCD Once you've fed them couple times the Robins make me laugh the way they literally jump up and down demanding grub
  6. Our 560s run 3/8 and I'm pretty sure it was just the sprocket that was changed. I keep meaning to try one of them on an 8 tooth to see how it cuts.... I also keep meaning to send one of the 365s to Spud for porting,
  7. Fair points Jules but I don't think guy covers himself in glory either... He just comes over as a compen merchant. On a personal note I'd be glad to see the tree gone when it was so big and right next to window.
  8. No intention of working FC land as too much hassle for such low margin return Good point aardvark re training and something that's came up already.
  9. Ok good points. They'll be labour only subcontractors, I'm going to see if can get assistance with training costs. Re Rams etc I'm only going by guidance on HSE website plus suggestions from insurance people (ABI guidelines) When I say his tickets have lapsed he can't remember which ones he has and who he did them with, so that doesn't really help me if there's an accident and HSE come investigating. I thought of another thing I should do - induction. The whole lot of paperwork is total pain in the arse but I'd rather spend some time getting it done now and then at least I'll have some peace of mind
  10. That's a hairy bugger. Was doing likewise myself but taking 6.2s off bottom as too big to go as 4.9s, felled with 576 on 24" and sned with 560 running 15. Awful things to do and almost a fill a tree snedding the pappy ones
  11. Hello, I'm on scrounge for advice. I'm planning to take on couple of bodies for few days a week, one has chainsaw tickets which have lapsed, one is young guy just starting and has couple saw tickets. I'm happy to put them through tickets as things progress but want to make sure I cover everything else initially. So far I've .. - asked for quote to add employers liability to my insurance - contacted Accountax re self employed contracts For my own peace of mind I'll need to get on top of RAMS and also get books to record training. Is there anything else I need to be doing? Thanks in advance
  12. Friend's dog, doesn't like strangers either
  13. The old girl's had quite a bit of refurbing lately and today she danced again, took out three loads late this afternoon so happy with that. Will see how she works away for a while before I do any more refurb on her.
  14. Thanks Woody, that could just be the ticket. Will measure grab tomorrow.
  15. Ok thanks, will have another look on google tonight also
  16. Anyone know where I could source one of these? The kind that just clips over the grab
  17. The fisheries around Scotland are petrol outboards or electric if it's a reservoir
  18. Where do you get cartridges from Tom? Looked online and seems to be Amazon/ebay. Got a box of normal cartridges, once they're gone I'll try new system as fed up of mess

    Gypies

That's a big cat. Here's the beast I got from a home, from reading this thread he's promoted to chief of security. Once had a big ginger Tom who was the ultimate hunter - pheasants and rabbits by the barrow load but also seen him with ducks, swallows, weasel, stoat, Barn Owl. Nothing was safe. .
  20. I think he cut it with chainsaw according to article, unfortunately you don't need to be drunk for that to happen. As for the rest of it, there's better way of getting help than jumping in car once you've got hammered.
  21. That is possible, the article gives impression though that there was reasonable amount of time between accident and the journey to hospital. If that's where he was going of course, one can never tell from such a limited report. Whole scenario is unfortunate though
  22. Who's tracked down the crim, the police or other sources?
  23. BBC News - Australian court rules against chainsaw drink-driver
  24. So frustrating and if stolen for scrap money then just sickening. If not someone in industry then I'm assuming they're going to burn the hoses to get rid of the rubber, keep an eye out for telltale black smoke in the area Hope you manage to get everything back up and running soon.
  25. You think that's someone in industry rather than usual thieving scum?
