  1. Not good from stihl UK as I think they are out of stock until next month. We still have some available and I guess other dealers will have stock too, that's in regards to the ap300/500 S batteries. You want to get the S series of batteries or you won't get max power.
  2. Chris must have packed that one and scoffed the other sweets!
  3. You do know that I'm a scouser, right? In regards to your other post about planning that's a definite yes. Nobody, as in the manufactures, seem to have a clue as to when things may go back to some kind of normal. The most commonly used 15/18" bars and chains have been in and out of stock with all the major manufactures for months, it's worth having a spare or two in the back of the van. That's not a sales pitch it's just a bit of helpful advice. Batteries same advice, files and oils not really a problem the same goes for spare parts. Although we have seen the odd spare part out of stock it usually hasnt been for more than a couple of weeks. Machines, well not many people are going to rush out and just buy a saw as a backup but they probably have been the most out of stock item bar none. I replied to an earlier post about the 592, we have probably had 4 or 5 enquiries this week about them so if you really need a machine don't hang around waiting for a dealer to get it in, phone around even if you have to pay a bit more as none of us know when they will be available again.
  4. Around £1200 Inc the vat depending on bar size, definitely no stock left and I don't know when we well be getting anymore unfortunately.
  5. The switching off after a coupe of seconds was definitely a concern I had when we first got our hands on the saw, I thought that it would really piss people off. I did ask one of the lads and he said yeah it's a bit of a pain but then he just banged on about how great the saw was. I do think that it would be better if it stayed live for a bit longer especially if the chain brake was engaged, I don't see why it couldn't stay live for say 5 minutes in that state!
  6. Thanks to all for the feedback. From what I gather we seem to be doing the right thing, if we could allow pre orders with a reasonably accurate eta then that would be a goer. Unfortunately there is absolutely no chance of that as most manufactures are constantly changing etas or just not providing them. That's not a dig at them, it's just how it is ATM and how it's been for the last 2-3 years. In the past 95% of the time we could get supplies in within a day or so the other 4% could take up to two weeks for the uk distributor to get stock from the worldwide distributor and the last 1% was say three months max, this was usually down to waiting for production of a product. On the plus side as my post just shouts of doom and gloom there are a few manufactures that can offer reasonable etas so I think it's worth looking into pre ordering certain items but only if we can give yourselves an eta too. Once again thanks for the feedback and for using the poll. 👍
  7. I thought I would bump this thread as we have had some user feedback on the MSA 220 T. Feedback is "It's brilliant/unbelievable" No negatives yet. It seems that's its is a genuine replacement for any petrol top handle saw.
  8. This is a bit of a difficult question to ask and probably more difficult to answer as I suppose it comes down to what you need and how desperate you are for a product, so here goes nothing. Over the last couple of years we have tried to be 100% accurate on the stock levels shown on our web site (www.skylandequipment.com) OK, its never 100% mainly due to human error on our part but its not far off. This is great for customer service as you place an order and you have it within a day or two, good for us as we dont have to deal with back orders and its cheaper for us as we dont have to suck up the transaction fees and admin time if we do need to refund order due to a customer getting annoyed with waiting. The downside is that we do loose sales because you cant, ATM, order an out of stock item from our web site so you will probably go elsewhere. So my question and the question of the poll is how often in general do you want an item to be in stock for quick delivery? We can change the web site so that you could pre order items but it wouldn't give an ETA which TBH is pointless as for the past 3 years ETA's from most manufactures is hit and miss to say the least. Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
  9. As Spud says I was looking at the staining on the gasket and also the intake boot looks wet on the last picture. He probably is right in that its just excess fuel as looking again there does look like a fair bit of it on top of the crank. I always carry out a pressure/vac test before and after engine strip downs as you never know if it was a leaking crank seal which I have seen with a few 550xp saws but I dont think I have seen any on the 560. If you have a pressure tester leave the spark plug in, block the intake ports in the manifold and pressurise through the impulse hole. Give the decompression valve a little spin as this can leak slightly and cause false readings.
  10. I may be wrong but it looks like you may have had an air leak at the base gasket or manifold to cylinder. Did you do a pressure/vacuum test? Where all the cylinder bolts nice and tight?
  11. That sounds about right. I was talking to a rep from a different supplier who said they had to source chips for their head torches which was not only difficult to do but the price had quadrupled. So 2 dollars instead of 50c for a single chip, its no wonder the price of everything is changing every couple of months.
  12. Im fairly sure that they are still available. A customer was asking about one quite awhile ago but it was this year.
  13. Gardens full of dog crap, that's one thing I'm glad to say I don't have to deal with anymore! Its lucky that you didn't use two ropes, one for each nostril.
  14. That is a bit ridiculous, just over two years old and obsolete. I know that there is a move to make batteries and chargers compatible across a range of different brands and products but its only for the consumer market. At least its a step in the right direction.
  15. Im not sure but I presume so. We had a big batch of Stihl batteries arrive a month or so ago but I think its been quite awhile since we had any decent sized Husky batteries. Its been like that for the about last 18 months, whether its going to get any better next year I dont know.
  16. We did get 1 T540Ixp on Friday I think it was. Holding it back for a customer but we have the same issue, no Husky batteries of any kind! I think its next year on those.
  17. Cheers Steve.

  19. We finally received a few 592's this week!!!!! Hopefully they are filtering through to dealers in the UK but, and Im guessing here I think the supply issue ATM may be the bars. It looks like that there arent any available until next year which may be the reason why they cant ship out the saws. If we could buy them as a power unit only then it might help but alas, we cant. I have one left and its priced accordingly at,... 1 million dollars.
  20. Its probably better than nothing but I can only advise to use whatever grease the manufactures recommend tbh.

  22. I wouldnt like to do that much hedge cutting in a week! I can see your point though, it isnt the best situation to have to take them into the dealer every time that they need to be greased. Maybe do as Gand says and at least smear a bit of grease on the teeth of the gears and any other parts that contact metal, just dont fill the gearbox with grease.
  23. Be a bit careful and frugal greasing cordless hedge trimmers. The workshop manuals for Stihl and Husqvarna are very specific about where and how much grease to use, you dont pack it in like petrol machines. From what I remember there are no guidelines given in the owners manuals as how to grease the machines, its more like send it into your dealer after about 50 hours of use.
