  1. This is my very first tophandle in thirty years of treecare that I trusted with a 16 inch bar! The saw doesn't sound like it's running properly at all but when the chain hits wood and when the going gets tough this little saw is unstoppable! I don't really see any point in modding this high revving lean burning saw when it cuts elm and oak with a fully buried 16 inch bar like it does.
  2. Isn't that something that you do when you're not convinced by the stock power? IMHO a ported 540 would scare the **** out of me.
  3. Nice! And the next buy will be? A long bar on the 540 for the takedowns and a 536LiXP for the pruning jobs?
  4. Nice website, but... Why is it that search sites like this don't feel the need to update their site when manufacturers have new models. This one too looks like it has been made/updated in the dark ages.
  5. No you can't swap chains! But FWIW here. You can use the 1.1mill wide chain from the 192 on a 536 LiXP. That's because the sprocket is covered by a removable 'spring ring'.
  6. I just want to clarify one thing guys. The eco button is the 14 meter per second mode. The regular mode is the 20 meter per second mode. In both modes the power is the same. It's just the speed that changes (and the duration of use of course).
  7. 1 Husqy t536LiXP, 1 Husqy t540, 1 Dolmar 5105, 1 Dolmar 7900.
  8. What spares do you need on a saw that never lets you down! Isn't this the same non discussion as thirty years ago? In my home town we had a Toyota dealer. People where discussed by the spare part prices they found listed. Mercedes and Opel where much 'better'. Their prices where half. But... The Toyota didn't need those expensive spares. The Mercs and Opels where regulars in the shop. When my sole supplier still was Stihl I too was in the corner of the spares and close by service guys. With my Dollys I only bolt my bars and chains on and off. The rest just works like a pro machine should work. No close by spares and service needed.
  9. NOOOO!!!! Rapeseed oil is vegetable oil. Vegetable oil can be anything! You can NOT use any vegetable oil. Only rapeseed oil has the right 'specs'. Here are some pointers for first use. Unfortunately to late. Don't mix bio oil with petrol. Things can go nasty. You could end up with a gummy sticky sludge clogging your tank. Don't mix rapeseed oil with petroleum based chain oil. Empty your oil tank. Fill it with rapeseed oil and start using it directly. While you're at it, get Aspen 2 to fill up the other tank.
  10. Why would you question the Echo's build quality? That has always been high standard. For me it was the lack of power and the flimsy chain brake lever that set me off. Both of those have been taken care of in the 355t. No excuse anymore not to get one.
  11. I don't know. Saw the pictures on Arboristsite.
  12. I have seen an opened up 355. It has inserts in the channels where the gas/air mixture flows from the lower part of the engine to the combustion chamber. These could be gone in the 360. Probably not a good thing to lose those.
  13. Rapeseed oil. €1.30 to €1.70 per liter.
  14. As long as you just don't use the green nozzles. They are horrible. I never spilled as much fuel as with those. Even after venting it before fueling.

  16. I hope you mean the battery powered saw Steve. Otherwise you'll need an awful lot of extension cord.
  17. I hope you can get it somewhere cheaper. I live in The Netherlands. This country has no history on cooking in rapeseed oil. It's all sunflower and olive oil and those are no good. Luckily I visit Belgium and Sweden a lot. Those are the places where I get my oil in bulk. On average I pay something like € 1,30 to € 1,70 per liter. Back to the "One reason I use Aspen". ;-)
  18. Empty the chain oil tank of your chainsaw and open the adjuster screw to setting full. Buy just one liter of rapeseed oil. Fill your saw up, use it and tell us what you thought of it. It's not gonna break your bank.
  19. A car is a car, a house is a house, a tree is a tree. Should we continue? You are right (sort of) regarding the alkylate bit. It's the added 'oil' that does the trick. Waving this away as a minor tweak is not doing justice to the achievement of Aspen. By all means, keep mixing your own smelly deadly brew. The advantage of that is that in the end you don't even remember we had this chat!
  20. Don't ventilatie assumptions from your side that are based on nothing treequip! My mate Wouter tested a new formula Aspen. He did this from March 12 2013. All machines where checked with an endoscope before and after testing. This new formula is now on the market since two months. Aspen uses a different oil in their Aspen 2. This oil leaves zero carbon in the engine. Break down temperatures are now far beyond any other petrol. Even far beyond Motomix! Confidence is so great that Aspen now even has entered top class motorcycle racing. Write what you know treequip, check your facts or state that something is only your assumption.
  21. Sorry, off topic but I have to mention this. Please tell me you're pulling our leg!!! I buy my bio chain oil for € 1,60 per liter at the supermarket!
  22. The Husqy flip caps are still like the regular caps threaded. The sturdy flip just makes it a lot easier to undo them. Too bad the new 540 doesn't come with them.
  23. Is it true? Will the first battery powered Stihl tophandle see the light next week? I haven't heard any specs yet. Just a rumour that it will be shown at the biggest trade show in The Netherlands.
