  1. No expert myself but look pretty poor to my eye. Just looks like they did not finish the job.
  2. Frustrating day as canceled a processing job based on a dreadful forecast but it's not been too bad. Not normally one to complain about better than expected weather
  3. Pretty much what I was thinking Kev
  4. Yes mine is like Triggers broom and you do have to clear a few left logs but I use my truck with a canopy for other work so the Loadhandler gives me versatility. Also nearly got caught out with the truck rising after unloading. Fortunately just able to squeeze out under the door without reloading the logs haha.
  5. First off good luck with the future Best buy for pounds spent to time saved would the Loadhandler. Not as quick to unload as a tipper but saves a lot of time for very little expenditure.
  6. Thanks Only quote he has had was for two guys for a whole day £300 without doing the base. Sounds like this was on the steep side for the job involved
  7. Brother is needing a shed and due to ill health needs it putting up. Only 6'x8' B&Q type job. What's the going rate? Also what support do they usually need? Thanks
  8. That little? The charge chamber is 4' diameter and 4' long. Think thats around 1.3 cubic meters. Hmm OK not that much weight but I make that around 90kg once sieved if same conversion rate as current retort. Can I ask what retort you have Richy? My one is going to need overhauling or replacing soon so weighing up the options.
  9. I am leaning that way. I can just see me spending good money getting this lump back to base then having it rot here instead of in the woods where it sits. Just don't want to end up kick myself down the road though. Still I cant weld and presume getting the kit and learning how to do it would be costly. Also don't know how well it works. Looking at it I cant see how the combustion chamber can get anything like enough air. The charge chamber is 1.3 m3 so one hell of a lot of gas is getting directed into it mid burn and no air to let it fly. If you look at the bottom through the ivy youcan see this baby air vent
  10. After a great late spring normal service has resumed. Lashing it down today and yesterday 25mm in the rain gauge from the last 24hours. O well it usually clears up some time in September before winter sets in.
  11. Love my 346 XP Been on several processing jobs and the clients 550 or 560 is playing up and my old 346 ends up doing the work. The new models look great when they are working
  12. Think it's free but it's hellish heavy and definitely a lot of work also not sure the main chamber is sound. Took these pictures from underneath.
  13. Been offered this old beast. Not sure weather it's worth putting the effort to bring it back to life
  14. If they do I have never cleaned mine
  15. Ah BT pro lifter reveals the type you mentioned. I tried ratchet pallet truck but got no results. That does look very clever and can see how you can handle rougher ground or higher loads with that design
  16. Yes to be fair the floor is better than I remember. Years of getting scraped with a tractor bucket has taken off any bumps. This is the one I got but in hindsight maybe should have got the one with longer tines as they don't quite pick up the far rail on the metal pallet IBCs if picking them up length ways. Pallet Truck, Pallet Trucks, Pallet Jack
  17. Hi Tommy It just arrived so been out to have a play I mean do some work. Basically it is great. It's hard to get it started when pushing if on a rough bit but once moving no bother. You notice any gradient as barn has a sloping floor for drainage but again overcome-able. Even moved half full crate out on the hardstanding. My eat more pies to make it easier though
  18. Yes nice shed and solidly built Building it's the easy bit filling it's the hard part
  19. The odd load here and there but basically dead. Going to try and sell some green over the summer but dithering about how best to advertise it. William. Yes get as much in now cut and in cord to leave time free to deliver come the winter. Also the ground is relatively dry at the moment making getting the timber out from the woods and into the storage area much easier.
  20. Thats a few hours stacking. Good work Do you leave gaps between the rows and how long do they take to dry?
  21. Sounds like you want something like the old Arrowsmith kiln. Not seen them lately but might be worth a google. Just had a look myself and came across one by Logosol http://www.logosol.co.uk/all-products/sauno-kiln/
  22. Will do. It should be here in a few days
  23. Wet logs and crate are around 550 kg but when dry closer to 400 kg max. They will only be going in the shed once they are dried to keep them that way in the winter months.
  24. Great Thanks all will get one ordered. The seller recommended nylon wheels as they will cope slightly better with imperfections in the floor.
  25. Last bad one I saw was a Charnwood. Good looking stove but it was impossible to shut down due to air leaking through the middle seal. We had Dovre years back with same problem. Seen countless Villagers with poor door seals were they meet but admittedly these were quite basic stoves but would never have a double door model myself.
