    Saw dilema

Hi Cov Climber, I run a 576xp on a 24" and it flies! I did wonder a while ago though if a 372 on a 24 would have been good as its a wee bit lighter I think for lugging around all day good luck
  2. thanks Wooded. I may have stumbled upon that a while ago, will check. I had a demo with the husky when it first appeared, then handled the 160 at one of the shows which felt good too. Just was wondering if anyone used the batteries in differing situations with different saws but thanks for the you tube idea
  3. Dear All, Im getting the truck ready for a battery chainsaw, rear and top would be great to run together. I have read with interest some of your experiences with certain saws. I wondered if anyone has had any experience of using a battery top handle for a small dismantle, say and then cutting up on the deck with the same make of battery in the rear handle saw. So for eg using a stihl msa 160t then into a msa 200cbq? The Oregon rear handle saw looks fab value and my local dealer will do a good deal but I don't want 2 chargers, different batteries etc. I suppose if your using the husky combo you can pass the batteries easily to each other....?
  4. I "ran" both, well to be honest, bought a 261vw, very proud of it and it did a fab job but for the problems all been written about in previous threads. So then I bought a 550xpg, off the back of using the 550xp. 550 xp is lighter, easier to move when on the power but by an enth of a margin. The xpg is fab for warming tire wet cold hands... now the 261 is a back up saw which rarely gets used. I use a 576 with small and large bars too. Hope this kinda helps
  5. strap the cs 100 to the trailer, genius... why didn't I think of that, wheely that chipper lol
  6. Dear all, looking for some light, slightly narrow boots for climbing and found these tangos from Drayer in Germany. Tree climbing boot tango® Vi - Drayer Online-Shop Has anyone used these fellas and thought something of them, indeed bought a pair here in the UK? Many thanks:thumbup1:
  7. then theres the different axel weight restrictions, towball weight, chipper weight to think about and add too. how heavy is that? your gross payload is, as everyone says, minus all your tools and chaps! does the total push you over the magic 3500kg? Tacho time? Good luck!
  8. Sorry to read about your mum

    The Dogs!

we went to Norfolk this weekend, the four of us. Went down to Holkam Beach, which our family have a strong conection with and my tiny girl was chased a little by a youngish playful choc lab. Really, to the soul scared she was running back 30 yds towards her mum and dad in that low screaming pegging it run. The lab thought, heres a kid who wants to have fun and run with me. My girl sobbed for 3-4mins. We comforted her and told her that the dog just wanted to say hello and play but then after that she would not be in the open with any dog running around jumping in the sea. Horses are a big part of the beach running through the small wash an lots of walkers with their dogs to. 5 black labs jumped out of a new 90 while we were getting ready to walk down to the sea. Thing is she can stand and admire the horses and riders, but the dogs, that's a different matter:biggrin::confused1:We met a couple who had two huskys, they said that they were inherently lazy, had one as a pup and one as a rescue, that they self exercise together, its just the way they are wired, some maybe full on if come from a working home but these were not, really interesting day

    The Dogs!

Hi Kenty, Yes I have thought about that. Funnily enough, here in Brum there is the big old rescue centre and specifically a greyhound rescue home too. Im just making up my mind as to what would suit us before I walk into somewhere like that, it would be a tough choice to see all those dogs in one place....

I would have to change the way I work to make sure that there happy, getting my head around what ive been up, sometimes is all I can do! I will look into the breeds mentioned, should be fun.

    The Dogs!

I have been thinking for a good while now about having a pup. Trouble is space, workload, time, hot van/truck, walkies at 5am?????? or 8.30 when I get back, many reasons to not have one. Thing is, a pooch would be fab for us and my two smallish girls, great fun. thinking about a short haired chocolatebrown lab, husky, sheep dog, dalmation, I haven't found a "show us yer pooch" thread, so I thought id start one, all the best:001_tt2:

    aaaaaah mega, fantastic spot!
  18. Ive got a 2011 261 I think and its had a new clutch drum, several needle bearings, that's about it. Its been my main saw. Im not cutting and climbing full time but I do wonder how it would have coped if I were. I got a little concerned so I sourced a 550 after using one on a course and its been a good move. I don't want to sell my 261 but its sitting there in the truck as a back up saw. I hope if you buy new new that you get a good warranty..... Good luck
  19. Looks a fab place to be, nice one

    chipper???

    cs100 is a cracker, get a demo and enjoy:001_smile:
  21. top buy, you will have no regrets, get a set of spare blades in with the deal if you can. Its a brilliant piece of kit. You will have to cut with this is mind and it will take extra time to chip compare to a hydraulic feeder but its been worth its weight for me. Good luck
  22. Hi I always use my camon for your average garden laying jobs, however, on a job that size I use a burretto, I think its spelt. Available from hire shops, painted red its a hydraulic power and sheer weight, that beast rips through and it doesn't hang about. About half as much again to hire as a camon, approx. 80? for the day. well worth it. Hope this helps all the best
  23. hi Scraggs, hopefully will be when the shelving, hooks etc is done in the back box! stuff everywhere at the moment. when I shut (slam) the doors the window winders pop off.....lol
  24. done it! almost ready to rock n roll. Done a couple of jobs where the weights pulled were too big for the van. This will take the pressure off all of us:thumbup:
  25. Crane spider legs! lol, sorry misread! too tired, going back to my hole now.......
