  4. Cheers 18, It does indeed sound like a slipping belt, a bad slip at that. I bought the truck and the "garage" who I bought it from, Real Landrover People, didn't even tell me that its been done, theres a box under the drivers seat, cant remember the name now but my mate confirmed they are a tuning firm, so if its been remapped then as you've said its possibly made the manifold warp. Another cost to fix or should we get a new one? Cheers again
  5. spin up and bog down in the cut from what I have read, however there are many folk on here, yourself included that have been doing this all your working lives so its good to ask the question as long as everyones happy to give some of their hard earned opinion, thanks Sawtroll
  6. thanks Matt, I will ask him if it could be that:001_smile:
  7. Chaps I have just read that a weird whistling turbo under power can be a warped manifold, broken nuts? am I worrying too much or am I due a trip down the mechanics? Thing is its done it since I bought my landy back in march but after reading this I thought I would ask the question Thankyou
  8. :confused1:forcast is strong winds with hail and thundery showers, might just call the day and do the job next week. Don't know what to do for the best:thumbdown:
  9. Kangoo with a full roof rack, fantastic flexible tool. The passenger seat folds down then the mesh bulk head (hinged) swings open and slots into place so you can put long item in and your protected by that too. I used to put a mobile tower on the top of mine... You can Do a lot in a KANGOO!
  10. 9 pin... CJ what happens to the torque?
  11. Hi Saw Troll, yes that's what I went for from Rob D. Pro lite 15" 150MPBK095 with the 95vpx narrow kerf cutting chain
  12. 576 on a 24 and 20" bar. Just put an 8 pin on it so will let you know how that goes but one thing about the 576 is that is simply the smoothest saw I have. Its a pre autotune, does feel heavy after using the 550 though. Hope this helps
  13. laugh wow, that was fast cut through that damson 6" piece... I was trying to get the cut speed up as well as the weight down, so I bought a bar or two from Rob D and sprockets from Clarks and what do you know, It works! Gone from std 15"husky bar and .325 1.5mm to 15"Oregon pro lite bar and 95vpx, 1.3mm guage chain. Ho ho:lol: Put a 8 pin on the 576, see how that cuts tomorrow, if the weathers none to cr*ppy

    Loan/finance

try a credit card with 18months 2 years interest free. If you are working every day and have the facility to knock off 100 or 200 pwk then it would be paid in no time. Just watch out for the dealer giving you the 3% purchase cost through using a credit card. To counter this get an extra set of blades out of them. Or speak to Phil Kirkland at spectrum. Nice chap. He can sort out finance deals for you Good luck
  16. My mate can chip in 10 mins what takes me approx. 25mins and don't forget he can cut any which way he wants as his greenmechs got a 9" gob. I love that machine!
  17. Matthew hi, CS100 is, on its own a fantastic machine. The only complaints I have are that the blades are expensive and if you try and put anything remotely gnarly, forget it( apple ivy spring to mind)pain to feed through compared to a hydraulic machine and hard dead wood, smashes fingers. However, the main issue with these type of chippers imo, is that, If you go down this route then it determines your whole set up. What I refer to by this is, where do you put your cs100? Locked away in a van or trailed? (The angle of feed is too high if you lave the chipper on the trailer for comfort.)behind a tipper, brand new by padlocking it to its dolly trailer? If your in a cosmopolitan area such as Birmingham then you might need someone else to keep watch out for "the not so good folk". Should you get a refurbed hydraulic chipper if you have a tipper? Anything + 4" can you use for logs? heavy firs then I wouldn't put 4" wet through as if the cassette blocks, then you will curse for the rest of the day. If your into lager takedowns, all broad leafs considered and you want a cs then you must add extra time on your day to chip. You can learn to cut and stack as you take down with consideration to the chipper concerned. I did a re pollard on a row of Lombardi pops and the cs ate them up as my buddy sain well pop chip really well.. So if its going to be your only machine then im afraid your decision is made depending on how you can manage what ever you buy, waste included. My set up is a Landy with chipper, towing a tipping trailer. My good buddy has a 9" road tow behind an Iveco tipper. Between us both we are covered. There is a very experienced chap up north of the boarder did set up his works around the cs by using a luton van with a tail lift. Clever and staff efficient. Lots to consider. I wonder if this will help. All the best and good luck
  18. I am out. Sad to say I am sure that the likes of Jaguar landrover will see there profits diminish for a while as I truly believe many small firms will simply cease trading, unless, however, if they have a relevant product for the UK then they will survive. I am only too aware that striking generalisations would not help me if it was my mortgage on the line and had to be paid. I want us to stand on our feet and get our country back up there again on its own merit, not through a re imbursement or rebate, not through systems wallowing in tax payers money that get looked over when times are good but now, times are not and there is no money sloshing around for politicians to try and make political gain, then the red tops will have their field day. As does UKIP. Time to put GB back and sort out so many incidental problems in one sweep and start again but from a place of experience.
  19. May I ask how you got to 180.00? I am not writing to say that's bad or good, however, only you know the site. So please write down for me how you came to 180 and be honest. Then we may be able to help. After all a piece of string is so long right....
