  1. Well done to you both and the best of luck to you and your new family!
  2. :001_smile:LOL, went to look at a Navara this weekend, my wife was supposed to be the main driver as a family car ( shes deputy nursery nurse) aand I drive a 110. Only point is the landys costing a fortune to put right
  3. Hi ChunksBigBro, I run a garden maintenance business and Tree Surgery Operations. I feel that to make a direct black and white comparison between what you have spent on wonderful kit to how much you charge for a days work is missing the point when it comes to the wonderful world of the Tree Surgeon. Respectfully, I am not asking you to suck eggs but a Tree Surgeon has had to pass many long and expensive courses, have an understanding of so many areas in which have been gleaned off the back of others, vastly more experienced than themselves. This cannot be bought, read from a book and involves life and limb and ultimately the bottom line. Further more Tree Surgery is a profession, so is grass cutting and maintenance but not quite in the same respect, no ones going to tell me how to cut grass, however, the degree of difficulty in Tree Surgery is completely different, so, maybe that's why you may struggle to justify not being able to charge more for slinging the mower, stimmer around against a climber dismantling ,rigging down a mature specimen from 65-80ft up top. And as with your bottom line too, you will have known what you can achieve before investing in all this kit and what you can push to, so keep pushing until you reach your ceiling(what people will pay for) Im not trying to patronise, you can spend millions and still not earn any more than a crew who do the basics cleanly and efficiently Hope that explains a little Good luck
  4. I use a length of 2x1" cut diagonally at the end. hardwoods best. If its stuck, wont turn on start up, lay it down so infeed is on the floor, crawl up the shoot a little and push pointy end I then twist and the cartridge has always turned then knock the piece out, off you go! Good blow out when finished chipping each time sees this doesn't happen again.... Hope this helps all the best Nathan
  5. lol abs! not in mine, sound like good figures though on your old one, will remember them. I will ask at the garage to see if he can test the box to see if he can read what its up to
  6. yes it is Jon, I will have to check the name of the box under the drivers seat. A mate of mine who used to work at Solihull landrover recognised the name but I don't and I don't know what its up to. Will check it out tomorrow to find the name. How about yours? Mega powered up with rads and intercooler?
  7. F.A.B im going to have a good look at them when they come out over here. will try and find a local dealer
  8. Jon, there not straight muds but all terrains I think running approx. 36psi. I always wanted BFG ats but at silverline they talked me into these for tyre development and said that these would last so here we go...
  9. That will be ok, maybe the extra weight will stop the thing from tipping up when your lobbing Lombardi through it lol
  10. And a very merry chrimbo and new year to you too. They are 265 75 r16. Collectively decided to go wider than the 235 which I originally wanted as I carry so much weight high up, so to spread the weight better to stop so much body roll. The last set were chuffin terrifying. They felt like they were about to tuck under and youd end up in a ditch
  11. Hi Mendiplogs, yes its a 110 hicap and since the new tyres have been on theres a rumble from underneath now as you slow down for roundabouts etc. I think Griff who services it now greased them up so its not been that loud of late but I did wonder after reading something about angled ujs??? Have you herd of them/ you know if these are worth it? All the best
  12. made some changes to mine since I last posted. I have lifted this 2" on progressives at the back to help with the weight of pulling the trailer with the kit on
  13. Hi Dan, the cs is approx. 29-30" wide. Your right about the ivy covered anything, I just chuck that ion the trailer... The box opening is quite wide though. I would just love it to have a feed roller type mechanism to cut out all those "re feeds" if you know what I mean
  14. Tim, I use a 1200 britpart winch, in the back of my truck. I asked the landy people who I bought it from if this was going to be a bit of over kill but they poured scorn on a cheap electric winch as they said it would work for a few months then pack up. So now I can pull trees over with it, apparently. Works well though with curved husqy ramps
  15. Hi all, Has anyone had a demo or got one of these cross country eliet with a throw pipe on? 20 jaar Eliet Super Prof Heres the link. It would just fit in the back of the landy, it has a feed roller of sorts but I am not sure its worth paying out for when I have a cs100. What I really want is a 25bhp roller fed cs100. Can anyone any body with a pencil from GREENMECH imagine this??
  16. long sleeved goalie tops with padded elbows from sports soccer about the same in cost to aspens. They seem to be holding up too.
  17. LOL Keep warm old chap, Im with Si tomorrow
  18. Hi Si Does Dom take that lovely bus to tip then???? All the best Nathan
  19. :001_smile:thanks guys:001_smile:
  20. Thanks Felix. T&Cs, something that I haven't gotten into as yet. I have always tried/ thought I maybe a good judge when it comes to making a business? Maybe I need to have a rethink. Will search terms on here thanks chaps
  21. Went round to tomorrows job this afternoon after a fine day doing multiple jobs at one address only to be greeted by" Oh no, you should have had a phone call/ text/email to say we didn't want you." This job was a Cypress dismantle 60ft, Oak crown raise and dead wood in a mature, a fully grown specimen. I was to do lots of dragging/ chipping whilst my mate mewps his merry way around. So not only have I spent time on 2 visits, phonecalls to customer, to council(TPO) etc, organised diaries plant etc and finally loss of work profit. She was so happy for me to get the job done and its been in the diary for 3 weeks. They changed the job spec and got someone else in Is there anything I can do to prevent losses in the future or is this just how it is?
  22. 550xpgon 15 and 576xpg on 20 + 24 bars, both on 8pins. Each to their own good luck
