  1. You've already heard most of my yarns and findings towards the perfect hitch mate haha armour and beeline bind to much and hrc with the amount of wraps i like won't consistently grab , the kevlar(aramid) poly mixes like arbpro and volcano hold differently and don't seem to flatten out as much as the technora (armour and beelines) do. Although the arbpro and volcano are a completely different rope structure, the kevlar and poly mixes well and makes for easier breaking of the knot and also a more consistent grabbing. This is just very general statement as there are a lot of factors to take into consideration but i'll try not to bore the fellow arbtalkers with geeky crap about hitch cords haha back to the hitch hiker
  2. Sorry mate but it has nothing to do with being static . It's about what hitch you use , what materials match well , the length of said hitch and materials . If you want ,pm me and I've got a bit of info I can share If your interested. I've only been on cougar for three months but my hitch is working better then it was on tachyon. 👍
  3. Get into it mate , make sure you set it up nice and safe though
  4. it's not available in europe yet Kevin , ce testing is underway so hopefully in the next few months.
  5. we set up a swing on friday, up the königstuhl in heidelberg. the weather was ideal and it was a pretty dope day.[ame] [/ame]
  6. works fantastic on everything on cougar it bosses armour pruss by miles.
  7. Freeworker - Gleistein GeoStatic 11.0 Semi-static rope - climb up high! this line ticks all the boxes , not to static but not to bouncy either . good for a bit of wrenching too.
  8. Smashing yet again BEn. Now I have started making my own vids , I apreciate the time and effort that goes into editing these bad boys
  9. Nah but I know most of the lads , where you there when iggy was ? haha he got my my first job in arboriculture at full circle arb.
  10. Say hello from Jesse to the boys , Guzza ,Jack, Beez, Ash , all the lads . small world eh?
  11. Same stuff mate . I sometimes press enter without reading what i have written. Just to clarify , the volcano is the really good stuff I'm talking about and I haven't tried epicord yet.
  12. I saw a nasty pic of a mallion that had completely eaten away at a grillion I think . the steel on alu caused some serious wear that went unnoticed for a long time so make sure if you are using a mechanical devise to check it and monitor the wear.
  13. you think I'm that easy Adam??? haha flick me a message and ill sus ya some out when i get some more bro , on the house ... ben is getting the last of my reserves so ill get some more in the next couple of weeks.
  14. thanks mate ,yeah they were full of wet sawdust and ivy so weighed around 250 kgs , we dragged them down and then lifted them up ..... I just sort of improvised and it worked well. @Darrin cheers. As james said its a spacer off the pinto rig and luckily there was no metal or nails , we are quite lucky here in Heidelberg as they didn't bomb it during the war.
  15. yes ........ it works on every rope i have tried , even my 10 mm arbor cup access line
  16. Volcano for the win , I've tried everything but that new epi cord and its really imo the best hitch cord. if you wash that beeline it will look brand new , it lasts for a long time
  17. Im a believer , such a good tool . funnily enough paul i was just watching those vids when i clicked on to arbtalk. I made one a few months ago [ame] [/ame] whats your comparison for the two ? I've heard that the epple hook is a lot better but without trying the other i can't say ....... but the apple hook stays with me most climbs.
  18. what throwline are you using? I use that stiffline from french touch concept and it is brilliant.
  19. Haha if you look at the heli vid you'll see meg make an appearance at the end . Yeah there was a few people that's for sure . Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. [ame= ] [/ame]playing with the new quad track , taking down some pretty average trees
  21. haha its a wicked tune a mate haha but you've lost me with the breakfast reference ???? the old heli jobs aren't to common , we were lucky with that one.
  22. Ive got a wrench and some cougar blue to thrash this weekend mate , hope the weathers better then today.
  23. If the weathers good next weekend we can get one setup again mate but... with more shockload and with a better release.
  24. The setup i was using was just thrown together off what i had on my harness at the time , i used my normal system as an inline anchor. It was a pino pulley combined with my 6mm thimble prussic off my lanyard. I like deadwooding and yeah its just a more realistic video of the day to day stuff.
  25. practise, practise, practise all of your pre entry checks should be really emphasised on this thread also . getting an ambulance called , location and situation of casualty. pre climb inspection is important e.g. powerlines, hangers etc but If the climbers bleeding out , don't go checking for fungi if you get what i mean. all gear is inspected and fit for ascent , check the ambulance is coming and all the time be talking to the casualty even if they are unconscious , it can really help. . ascend up and bring them down and give appropriate care , if the casualty is bleeding , make sure you take up something to stop the blood flow.
