  1. Are you lashed up to free beer like forever? Looks a really impressive piece!!
  2. Could you list the qual's & experience of the team and the kit / equipment you're planning to use - that would help in estimating a price for you. Plus, what is the full scope of the job? It's quite a range between dropping it and leaving the homeowner to clear brash / break down logs for firewood themselves (seems to be an ever increasing number of people choosing that option) to all chipped, removed from site.
  3. I've thought about harvesting around Christmas time. Anyone found it's worthwhile?? I guess it needs the right tree at the right time....
  4. Great vid, enjoyed that and picked up some tips for the future. A while back I saw some details of a course that dealt with explosive (det cord) for dismantling. Need to look that up again!!
  5. Brilliant! Like a scene from Garrow's Law!!
  6. It's really interesting watching the debate between experts (within the industry) about experts (within the industry!) Makes me wonder what those outside the industry think is important - AA or ICF (depends on the working environment I guess?) It's a shame there isn't a single body to bring it all together. Plumbers seem to manage different skill sets under one Charter - some are gas, some are oil, some RHI, some sewers & pipes etc etc.... but they all (if they choose to) can operate under the Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineers. It's hard enough for those of us within the industry to decide which route to take, heaven only knows how contemporary trades / professions view it....
  7. +/- 50% of the documents required (looks to me) like the ones you are required to supply at the application stage. What a crock!
  8. Fox Creek fracking operation closed indefinitely after earthquake - Edmonton - CBC News Who'd have thought it.....?
  9. It's a sign Ted! Obama's final State of the Nation Address...... Followed by a biblical sign! It's the time of the eagle! (Well, Osprey, but I'm sure the makers of the Ben Hur were allowed some artistic licence in the props department!
  10. Are you a UK national living / working in Vienna or an indigenous "European?" Just wondering if the humour / sarcasm is being lost in translation?
  11. A good read with some useful links through to https://treecharter.uk
  12. What are you going to do then Mr eggs?? Are you bothered if claimant wins or loses? What happens if you ignore the summons - is that contempt of court?
  13. It's enough to make you feel like being an uncooperative witness!
  14. If you're cross cutting at weekends, do the 30/31 regardless. It'll make you a safer, more efficient and confident cutter. If you like it, do some more courses, of you like it, do some more courses.....
  15. Maybe he's charging more than you Ste?? (Just leg pulling )
  16. There are some interesting idiosyncrasies with church yards. Worth a google if you're bored. Closed cemetery may fall under LA responsibility for survey / maintenance, open cemeteries generally fall to church funds. Trees falling in a cemetery may be the property of the vicar to dispose as they see fit.
  17. But on the bright side, after some extensive Mont pine work before Christmas, my mucker collected about 20 feed bags of cones from the felled limbs / trees and sold them at Cothele Christmas craft & producers fair as Victorian kindling £5/bag. He even sold single cones at £1 a piece and sold out! I think he made more than I did for doing the felling!
  18. Did they expand any on the DNA sequencing? Like what they might be expecting to find - different years fruiting body but from single host for example?? Intriguing stuff!! Was there a fee??
