Dhoh! That was kind of the point...... You had to "look" for it, whereas the Americans, the French, even the Scottish comments were mainstream TV. Maybe that's the fault of the media editors (but to acknowledge that wouldn't fit the baying mob "he's one of 'em" narrative..... )

Thinking about it, the only way an accident comes to HSE attention is when it is reported or high profile. Banning sale of new toppers might be achievable, but banning use of existing units won't be. So existing units will become treasured and cared for (no bad thing) and their use will continue. Occasional accidents will still happen, but after the death or injury, the unfortunate victim will then face an HSE prosecution.... Problem (if a genuine "problem" actually exists) NOT solved... -

How many think it's operator error rather than training deficiency or hazardous tools? Be really good to know what the % of accidents is when measured against usage hours and how the recorded accidents are filtered against trained / untrained (I mean NPTC ticket) operators and that which might be considered inappropriate use (ground use for example) Can't see it happening. -
Has everyone seen the questionnaire at AA webpage on FB? Worth a look and get your comments in before it's too late, closes 31 Mar I think.

Thanks to Brexit...... We may no longer be required to fund such studies by a team of 11 researchers at the Institute for European environmental policy (IEEP) who spent a year reviewing more than 200 academic studies for the report, which is the most wide-ranging probe yet into the dynamics of health, nature and wellbeing. Pants, a bunch of geeks were paid to look at other people's work and produce a 4 page document (http://www.foeeurope.org/sites/default/files/biodiversity/2017/briefing_nature_health_equity_march2017.pdf) which is wooly at best, has no particular specific point or originality nor does it really compel anyone to do anything.... So the point of it was?

At least it's warm by the fire and DP is on IPlayer Came very close to wrecking the mornings work by engaging the ring binder punch function in the wrong position and almost suffered a paper cut!!! Job done, time for a brew and a pasty before picking the nipper up at 3.
