  1. Had deutz tractors for a while now, first an agrotron 6.00s now a 115 mk3. Great tractors very well built, mechanically hard to beat but......anything electrical on the newer ones will play up and anything plastic in the cab can break, exhaust system will rot on the bends. I'd have another one though! Transferred my loader between the two but the brackets are expensive but probably no more than similar sized tractor. Hydraulics are very good loads of power. Reasonably economical. If going for older air cooled check for clean engine, more oil means more rubbish sticking to it so gets warmer but nice and simple to work on.
  2. Don't worry think we all wonder how some people do it for the money. Had a quote refused today, cut down and dig out old hedge replace with 8 bays of continental panel fencing with corner posts, concrete gravel boards etc plus a skip for the old fencing. Materials cost alone is about £900 they showed me the other quote......£1000!
  3. No pictures of the eaten fence I'm afraid, the best bit was the gates all that was left was the upright hinge end and top rail that had been creosoted.
  4. Price of netting not that far of that of post and three rail, depends on timber specified. We started using netting after a customers horses ate the new post and rail within 3 years! Personally I think post and rail looks nicer, netting cheaper long term and electric the best for dividing fields. Seen some impressive injuries from electric fence tape/rope though.
  5. Post and rail depends on rail length, so normally 6ft. Netting we normally do 3m. It's about 1.2m high. Barbed wire a good idea but most customers think their horses are too delicate!
  6. Got the 540 Good mower, 54" decks nice and quick but blooming wide with the fan sticking out the side.
  7. Visionline based in redditch, very helpful and professional. Will travel too.
  8. Got full selection of buckets but only really use 2 or 3 of them. Heavy rake is very useful but the light weight is too easy to bend, broom has never been fitted as looks a waste of time. Got riddle bucket but only good at separating ballast from sand if you've got hours and loose pins to get the rattle. Ripper tooth is a god send on roots. Post knocker is brilliant but takes some getting used to and can get annoying if you've used a full size tractor mounted one before. Would love a grab but want something like a sorting type but no one makes one small enough for a 1.5t also considering the respray route but can imagine the paint peeling of after a bit as never as good as original.
  9. Ours at work recently.
  10. Always been with Nfu for tractor but they decided a few years ago because we work at private house plus commercial sites an agri policy is no longer valid so got put on a commercial policy but this only covers tractor and third party all trailers/implements have to be listed separately, much bigger premium!
  11. Oi that's me! Yes based in Tanworth in Arden not far from redditch. Send me a pm with location etc and we'll see what we can do. Stephen
  12. Had something similar on pto chipper, usually called cavitating/cavitation, look it up on tinternet for full explanation. Normally caused by blockage, leak somewhere or even low oil level. As the pump tries to pick the oil up it froths up what little it can get thus increasing the volume and out it bubbles. Hope this makes sense!
  13. They do sell well!
  14. Can't quite see from the pic but has it been pruned like that. One thing that really annoys me is trees arriving with main leader nipped off so all the trees look the same size! Have you ever ordered some robinia? Sent 3 back till realised they were all hacked back the same.
  15. yep. had worse, ordered some portugese laurel from italy £90+ each, just had single stump of root on some of them. Think it was their idea of undercutting in the nursery!
  16. Anybody got any designs or ideas for carrying and rolling out horse netting. Got mini digger or tracked barrow to fit it to, know there's the quick fencer type machines but look a bit heavy for 1.5t digger. Even something as simple as a spike welded to the side of the bucket just wondered if anyone has had a go.
  17. might not be loler but some other piece of paper i imagine. Recently asked why front loader and not rear lift arms? Answer, one moves things and one lifts things! Don't think he really knew either.
  18. Just had ours done and it was a bit different this year! Not only was the loader inspected but also the tractor, as could be expected the path of load was followed through loader, loader frame, tractor body, front axle mounts, steering joints, wheel nuts and tyres. Then he asks me to show all lights are working, operation of steering and brakes, seat belts! etc etc. So just a heads up check everything is OK before they turn up. By the way this was with Vulcan inspection on behalf of NFU. Looking at premium about £75 inspection fee, think it'll be more next year if they're going to be as thorough.
  19. How are you attaching the square rails so the f/e sits on a gravel board? never like notching for square as not much post left.
  20. What about this one?
  21. Second digbits. Next day delivery, good advice and price. £15 delivery for a mini digger track.
  22. Hi, we use Vulcan inspection for all climbing kit and front loader on tractor. Thorough and professional outfit which is what you want really, think they have blokes nationwide but we're south solihull and the inspector is quite local his mobile is 07766247720 and i'm sure he'll put you in touch with the office.
  23. We've hired this in the past, cracking tool. No it don't dig sideways just can't rotate the picture!
  24. Looks just like waxoyl or similar chassis paint, did my land rover with it years ago and dried to look the same. Warmed it up before applying with a brush, can take a while to dry especially if cold.
  25. That looks the same as our shliesing. Badged as a premier on ours. Have you worked out how to add stress control?
