1. Great job ... looks really good. He does look grumpy ... maybe you need to do a Mrs Bear !!
2. Fantastic job. Nice to see different stuff.
3. Fantastic job Dave. It got even better as I walked round and round him a few times.... he was definitely engaging ! Was he a good chap and did you remember him with fondness ??
4. Big Yum ! I was trying to think of a buttery quip !!! They look like they were enjoyable to do.
5. Having been lucky enough to see it in the flesh I don't know if any photograph would do it justice. One of the most beautiful carvings I've seen. Top top job Si and nice to put a face to a name !!
6. Nice job Crafty ... looks great, and congrats. Hope she is saw dust tolerant!!
7. I find my 150 does vibrate and I don't like its build very much, but the fact it is so light means for me its great. I can carve for much longer so I am pleased I bought mine. Whether I think its expensive depends on its reliability so that remains to be seen. I must thank RobD for sorting me out as now it has a Sugi dime tip its really bostin. I truly believe I could juggle three of em !! If you have one of these you will still need something else. I would love a 181 but with a Cannon dime tip on it my 171 has been brilliant so I cant justify the cost. (Tempting fate there)
8. Looks a class job, Spock ears or not.
9. Sorry I don't think I can help. I don't know if abercarver has a bear , he is up in Tamworth. I know Woodcrafter woodwizard and Norfolk have all posted some great bears but they aint local. You may need to travel for a 6 foot one.
10. How big do you want it and when do you need it ??
11. Superb ... you should be well chuffed with that.
12. Nice Job .... looks a tricky little piece well executed.
13. How do you make an octopus laugh ??? Ten tickles.
14. That looks real smart .... not a piece you want to split down the middle .... says me from experience. I was asked to carve something..... anything.... for a friend of a friends wedding .... in Wales. They promptly supplied me with a chunk of oak .... from Wales .... much wetter than soaking !!! Like a complete twonk I carved a heart with a love spoon across it .... a good idea I thought ... until of course it split and cracked. My wedding gift ... a broken heart !!! Si ... yours looks a bit drier and somewhat better ... Nice Job
15. Nice one Gobby ...Very Nice
16. Sweet Chestnut is my favourite .... maybe because (as Dervish said) that's what I have most of. I love carving some hard Oak ... and after that I enjoy carving some softer Sycamore ... and after that some hard Oak. Variety is the spice of carving .... I think !
17. You may have a thing about them ... I think you've got the hang of carving them !! I can only agree that its the form and shape with this piece. I find myself looking at it for quite long periods of time !!!
18. Wow ... that is a classic.
19. That's an impressive job and special as it will be thought provoking and inspirational to lots of young minds. Well done
20. Wow .... Super Smashing... I am sort of jealous cos I would so like to have a go at something like !!! Its really great !!!
21. Yup ... stop chasing cash (if you can) ... he is superb.
22.
Hi Rob ... Would you Adam & Eve it !!! Postie just turned up with the chains. Thanks Rob
