  1. After finding out the cost of having my defender "professionally" waxoyled i set aside the whole day to do it myself ... carefully and thoroughly.... afterall in this day and age when things do "exactly what it says on the tin" ... so i bought a pressured can and the pressure sprayer and the probe to get it in everywhere!! After hours of wire brushing and pressure washing I set up my waxoyl kit .. including standin it in hot water and thinning with white spirit only to find it impossible to spray... still the consistency of warm butter ... constantly clogging the sprayer.. glooping out in dollops of annoying babypoo !! Did i miss something or am i a twot or is it possible i picked a can that had been sitting on halfords shelf for too long ??? Has anyone used one of thes things succesfully ?? It says the easy way to waxoyl your car on the tin !!!!
  2. Went to the first day of Woodfest Wales yesterday (Saturday) and had a bostin day out... As always it was very enjoyable and inspiring to watch some of the top carvers performing their magic and a real treat to see Bob King from the USA !! I am wondering what some of the tools are that these guys use ... Bob King had some kind of attachment over his bar (I think) with a circular piece on the end ... this seemed to shift a lot of wood very quickly.... lots of them seemed to use what looked like a branding iron (plugged in from generator) to make perfect circle/domed eyes ... and a few were finishing with an aerosol spray - black and blue can - which gave a deeper colour and a real lustre ... impressive.... Whilst I am not looking to buy myself some talent !!! or start a debate on whether you should or shouldn't use these thing ... I am curious what these things are ... can anyone enlighten me ?

  7. After a while... of checking out this site ... I finally plucked up the courage to post my attempts ... up for scrutiny... only to find I have to follow the legend that is simon o'rourke ... with pictures of the most impressive chainsaw carving in the uk ...if not the whole widey world !!! Oh well , someone has to bring the standard down.
