  1. I'm a bit lost now. I wasn't giving any advise about using what technique or how to use it at all. I was giving advise about putting your own thread up asking such questions as you have so rightly pointed out I havnt "cut any wood" up a tree yet. I plan to but funds don't allow me to pay for the course yet. I use drt for rec climbing and I have been taught most techniques by a climber with me and also by reading threads and asking questions on here, this site has been the most usefull for this and I have learnt so much by asking questions from both the young and old. To be honest your comment has put my back up a bit as I know I have no cert for climbing and you are saying I was giving advise on it when I clearly wasn't...
  2. Then start a thread. Why has it got to be a "newbie" some of the old fogeys that climb use srt a lot. You would get a wide audience from people who are new to using srt and old fogeys that use srt. No doubt the more response you get the better us eom the information would be. As you have said you may start digging whenever you have time.
  3. I get it now. Plippy is trying to show us what to do when he jumps from the plane in his profile picture......
  4. Jeeze I'm re training and getting my h and s Certs and applying for a job....
  5. I must be getting old and seanial I can't remember what the thread was about and I commented on it aswell..... I need a holiday.
  6. Personally I think arbtalk has what it needs. I could be wrong and about to be proven it but there are plenty of forums and threads to look through that cover pretty much everything. I have noticed the chat bit hardly ever gets used (always empty when I go in there) plenty of arb shops to look through. Axe throwing at nearly every show so far, t shirts that are by far the best and most comfy I have worn lately. Not sure there is much more the site could give unless they start charging for subscriptions to it but even then what would that add?
  7. Oh and I did forget to add there are different forums for different subjects that people are interested in so just look through the ones that interest you. Or like me just click/tap on the today's posts tab and read what's new. Not having a go or trying to start anything just my two pence worth is all.
  8. This issue was brought up and tried to be discussed but once she has an idea in her head I'm powerless to advise on it or be listened to. The one who must be obeyed has spoken.
  9. Because if this site was nothing but tree related stuff it would end up being very boring with no variety to any of the posts threads or discussions. I know if all I was reading was fungi and answers about wood I would get very bored and sign off from the site and find another that has the variety.
  10. That is a good machine. I would rather have a separate tractor trailer for the chip and a forwarder type back on that. The back looks a bit small for my liking aswell.
  11. I will post a pic for you later even put a ruler against it if your really interested.
  12. Funny thing about the spelling. My iPad wont let me spell cespa, we spa, taspa, Vespa oh there we go there it is. Ok will pm you, see what he knows. Tried flea bay, looking at a few on there, but I like to broaden the horizon a bit other than just flea bay.
  13. I know there are a few bikers on here and I know it's not a proper motorbike but my other half is looking for a vesper moped as she wants one to ride. Not looking for a top notch one, doesn't matter if its junk as it can be rebuilt. Also not got a huge budget to spend either. Anyway just putting a few feelers out to see what happens. Cheers rich.
  14. There's a suprise. People are happy with something when hy got it but say nowt, when it goes wrong there all over it......
  15. Relised tonight I didn't leave a review. Done it now. Only for the knot app as I don't have the fungi one.
  16. Where abouts are you? They can be a pain if it hasn't been started in a while. Clean the fuel bowl, ensure its getting fuel dwn the pipes. And check for spark. Oh and don't forget to hold the lever in, or you will be chasing it across the yard.
  17. Can't see that's underwater. The bar is submerged. I was expecting some scuba diver with a saw. With all the rain this week I think everyone has done that. And they were 20 ft up.....
  18. I have no gear and no idea. I just see a tree/hedge and start hacking away until it looks good. Isn't that what everyone does?
  19. This is true. They will ask the seller to remove the picture but not close the ad. As you have not got an ad they will only close an ad if it copies yours. If that makes sense. Oh and they will ask you to prove its your pic aswell.
  20. Can you not get permission from the farmer to use a strip along the fields. Get some timber out that way. Maybe a beer token or two.
  21. Oh come on, hash browns rock.
  22. Well I don't really intend to wear them for working, just on days off I seem to get phone calls asking if I can look at a saw, strimmer, chipper, vehicle. Etc, so up I get and off I go. Grease and oil loves me as it always seems to attract to me and whatever I'm wearing.
  23. Oh no here comes the stihl husky thing again. Is the chainsaw exploded diagram one available in any other colour than grey? Could see it getting dirty real quick. I want one of those by the way. Not sure I like the logging co. ones.... Will have to look a bit more at those ones.
  24. Have you ever looked into the history of your house and if anything went on there. I've done it to mine and found that the next door joining ours was bombed and 3 people died. Ours was described as badly damaged but repaired.
