  1. All this talk of boys day thought I would get on with porting. Opened up the dolmar 116 exhaust and found this. Should be able to make it breath a bit better me thinks. Some cutting and grinding involved. Already has a big boy exhaust hole so don't need to make it bigger.
  2. An MOT is only really valid the day it is issued anyway. I would have been more suprised of he was stopped and not made to have an mot done. Being stopped means there is something wrong. They wouldn't stop you otherwise, or the vehicle looked dodgy to them.
  3. What he said. Won't go wrong with 16inch bar.
  4. American targets....... No offence ELG.
  5. Heart goes out to all.
  6. I'm going with no idea how to remove he handle. Everything was there. Just removed the lot. Didn't even touch the cylinder. Hey ho. That's what I do. If it was done right then I wouldn't have it.
  7. 200 apart. Snapped rings on four places. Badly scored piston on snap lines. Scored cylinder but beyond repair. So new piston and cylinder. Repair bill will be above what the owner wants to spend. See what happens. Oh and exhaust gasket wasn't even in the right place. Was hanging out the side of exhaust.
  8. So maybe someone could help me a little bit here. The saw below was suppose to be seized. So the customer said. He took it somewhere else and they gave him a outrageous price for fixing it. I've just emptied it from the bag and they have taken the handle to pieces. Always thought that a seized saw the cylinder would be removed first??? Anyway here it is before I even start on it.
  9. Mower is done. Was feeling lucky today so got on with it. Tapped it out with a small punch. Then its onto the ms200t. I know its Sunday but once I get something I just can't leave it alone. Will do my head in thinking about it all night. It turns over and comp doesn't feel bad so will do some tests.
  10. Just got back from lifeboat training. Was contemplating going and fixing a few tools and starting on the mower sheared bolt. But sod it its Sunday and the sun is out. Time to get bathing........ Should scare a few birds off..
  11. Looks like America again for that specific flywheel. STIHL CHAINSAW 020 020 AV FLYWHEEL ---- BOX1319Q | eBay
  12. Is it me or does that look different...
  13. Been pub dinner. Rented a few films. So watching them with the missis. Enjoying some time off. But getting funny looks for being on arbtalk. Damn forum.
  14. Well that was my thought. But then I don't get the advantage of having it before hand to see. Just clean up the mess, It has an alloy boss that the blade bolt goes throught before going into engine. This key has gone. Not sure the key broke its only missing, so may have come off when blade did and is in the grass somewhere. The boss still has the shear pegs on it. It may be that the owner had the blade off and sheard the bolt putting it on. Anyway my job is to remove broken bolt. And replace both key and new bolt. Just glad the bolt went before the flywheel did.
  15. Curious. How you know its his blog???
  16. The mower with the sheared blade bolt has turned up. Luckily the woodruff key has sheared on the blade before it reached the flywheel. Just a simple case of removing the broken bolt..... Shouldn't be too hard........ Should it???!
  17. I was thinking about the two rubbers. But they would have to fix them so people can't not put them on.
  18. Seen a lot worse. Just knock one off the opposite side to help balance. But IMO others may differ a flywheel that small wont be effected that much. Best to try and find a replacement.
  19. Was talking to a climber today after dropping his 200 off. He had one in the van and we looked at it. It is easy to put a carab under it the wrong way. If you had this and was using it for playing in a tree and jumping around the place in it the carab could drop under the eye and then when you put load under it the carab didn't move back just locked in place. So we thought that under normal working practices you would always check before using it. But mucking around in a tree you wouldn't, especially if you are a rec climber and having a bit of fun with it. He also said he has caught his hand between the rope and zig zag part and cut his finger quite badly with it getting trapped. Has anyone else done this? Still petzl say stop using it so I guess that's the best practice until more is found out.
  20. I don't have a preference on cylinders. It's pistons I worry about. Don't buy cheap of the cheap is always a good one. One ms200t returned to a happy customer. Now one mount field mower with a sheared bolt form the blade to sort. Nothing left to get hold of so the drills and extractors are coming out of retirement. Also a ride on mower coming in soon. Lacking power. Will go on flat no problem. Get it on a slope or incline and it dies out. Doesn't matter of working or just driving will die out. Customer wants it sorted as his garden is on a slope. And then there's a Kawasaki strimmer to tend to. The one from earlier. Run fine then started to play up again. So stripped it down and the crank seals had started to move away from crankshaft. Pushed them back in but going to replace.
  21. Get a pic up bud. Depends spud will knock some off the other side to "balance" it. I would replace it. Sometimes it makes to difference at all. Lets see a pic.
  22. Thats not hard to sort then. Some rubber gromit s to hold the carabiner in place either side of the zig zag upper. Should hold the carabiner when not loaded aswell.
