  1. Right on dude. I'm always being hip and dancing in the truck when I pick up the kids and there friends. I'm down with the youth of today I am...... Not sure they agree but if they want a lift they have to put up with it. Innit:confused1:
  2. Confused.... Not one burger in sight.
  3. So I'm about to become a grandfather. (Well step drandad) the step daughter is about to drop and today it hit me. Am I really getting old enough. Will it be pipe and slippers??? Been in the back of my mind for a while but today things started happening. Looks like it could be a long night tonight. I wouldn't mind but I'm only 28:blushing:
  4. Wheaton your bench thread bud. Yes meteor are good. But is the cylinder in good order before putting the new piston in?
  5. If tis not crap behind the blade. Then measure the blades thickness. Other than this the wheel is bent.
  6. Hello bud. Dover lifeboat. No not busy at all. One call in as many months. Had two calls in one month.... Must have been the cold weather stopping silly yaught season yet. Been training tonight. Nice to meet another lifeboat man. Check out my thread. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/lounge/48919-rnli.html More than welcome to add to it havnt been crew for long but getting there and sea survival training in January next year. Looking forward to it.
  7. Nice. Looks like wolverine has had a good go at that...
  8. Cheers spud. Will have a look for one. Ebay only seems to come up with America. Could be a long wait. Not looked into the shops yet.
  9. Oh it revs ok.... So much so that the ruined drum tells me so. Just not much in power on the cut. I need to sort a new drum sharp ish. Do you know the IPL for the dollars. And what drum will fit the 116. I'm really having trouble with it.
  10. You have a ghost in the picture spud....
  11. I'm afraid I'm not allowed to say where this piston come from. It was actually magnetised. The needles came from the small end. Guess sometimes a saw just doesn't stop quick enough before too much damage is done. I have another I will put up next. Should be good for a laugh.
  12. My Britains farm sets. Proper toys, metal that work.... I miss them. All plastic rubbish now.
  13. Only one thing left to do then. Pull the cylinder off and get a good look inside.
  14. My series 2a. Did have two of them but when the boy was born they had to go. Not very baby friendly aparantly. Took me a few years to get a landy again.
  15. I just noticed that. No the truck has had a cam wrap. But my land rover next to it should make some good marks on it:lol:
  16. Then its ring and possibly cylinder is shot. Neat fuel instead of mix will only end one way. Get it comp tested. If it wasn't new it may be the old owner has done s one thing to it. Better get the saw tested. Remove the exhaust and look into the port. What state is the piston in? Take a pic and put it up.
  17. How do you know its over heating???? What's the comp? Are the fins clean? Is the flywheel area clean? H's it had neat fuel in it?
  18. Ditto. Husky just borrowed the orange colour so simple minded folk would get confused and accidentally buy there saws. By the time they would have relised the fuel caps need screw drivers to get them off its too late. :001_tt2::lol::lol:
  19. Thought I would re open an old thread. Plus its the only one I could find with show us your arb trucks. Ok so it's not mine but it did swing past the workshop today with a winch issue. The winch was second hand and just fitted. But it was lacking the power it should have. Cleaned dit up as the bushes and motor where mingling. And it was working away again. But thought the truck was worth posting for all to see. N:thumbup:
  20. Yep. Going to do the transfers at some point. Gave up testing after it got too hot......... Oops. To be honest I didn't notice much difference after I had done the exhaust port and baffles. I doesn't sound like it runs any faster or harder. But then without the drum doing its work properly I guess I won't.
  21. Well gave it a go. The saw winds louder. But it rally need a new drum. It kind of heated up and started melting the stickers of the cover. T hank god the cover is metal. So now I'm on the hunt for a dolmar 116 chain drum. Have looked on ebay. But if anyone has one in the uk I would be great full.
  22. Yeah done the exhaust. Do you mean knock all the baffles plates off. I've taken the top ones off. Taken the pipe back to the baffle plates. I've just opened the exhaust port a bit. Looking at the intake port I can't touch it. It's already very close to skirt and the ring joins in the centre of the port. So unwilling to take anything away as I don't want to snag a ring. What you reckon. Pic of the exhaust port.
