  1. I've given up fixing them. For me its easier and cheaper to either fit new or 020. Wouldn't be cost effective to keep fixing them.
  2. I can only dream of that. Lifeboat was manic. Two jobs while training. One was a stopped engine unable to restart. Fuel filter blocked. Soon by bypassed it. Other was motorboat taking on water. Just the usual story of "it was fine last year" yeah try servicing your boats...... Looks nice tho Barrie. Is that paddling pool yours by the way. colour suites you....
  3. Not going to share with the rest of the class then.......
  4. I thought about this. But to be honest that needs more work on a map. Just knowing stihl or husky is good enough. But one rule is not climbing as we all know most use the 200t and I will just end up with and orange map
  5. Yes the boot is the bit you mean. The impulse is in the same area. Take handle off and its the small pipe from under handle, runs alongside the boot and into the crank case. Once you lift the handle off its easy. To lift handle off, remove the three screws, one front, one rear, and one front bottom of saw one pull start assembly side. Remove carb, and two wires at front of handle. When lifting hadle the boot will pull out from handle. This is held into cylinder with a plastic plate, lift this off and boot will slide off. Make a note of how the plastic plate was fitted for reassembly. Inspect boot for cracks and same with impulse. It's a lot easier with a pressure testing kit. The boot can also become lose fitting and leak around where it joins the cylinder. So on reassembly a bit of grease spread around the inside can seal this up nicely. If you get any more stuck let me know, P.s there is no need to strip the handle assembly down to remove it. It's held on by three bolts.
  6. A shoot out is not needed here bud, its NOT a husky v stihl thread I'm afraid. Just getting some info together for my own amusement as its bank holiday Monday and I'm bored. So got to do something to wind the missis up. And I've had the neighbours complaining as I've been looking at the 250 afternoon. Still can't find a problem. That's for another thread, And to me the stihl looks orange and white.....
  7. And as I said I'm a stihl man so orange is going to stihl :001_tt2: My map I will have it as I please. You want orange for husky go make your own.
  8. Just a simple one from me really. But. I s the carb boot ok? And is the impulse line ok. Only ask as you said the fuel lines had cracked, thinking maybe the boot may have gone aswell as or instead the impulse line.
  9. Ok. Good stuff but its more a what you use most kind of question. What saw do you pick up and go with, a stihl or husky. I'm trying to put a map together with orange for stihl and white for husky. Sorry but I'm a stil man so orange gets pref over saw. So yes woodwork could you please choose one. Will put up the map when I'm finished. But at the moment its going for a north south devide. Seems the south east is big on stihl aswell.
  10. Gardenkit aka aspen man. Will point you in the right direction on this one. The carb may need tweaking for proper running.
  11. One of these , but from the uk. MIGHTY VAC PRESSURE VACUUM TESTER TEST BRAKE BLEEDER DIAGNOSTIC ENGINE TOOL KIT | eBay
  12. Ok so not interested in stihl v husky but would like to make a map of the uk and either stihl or husky proffered users. More of a bit of research fun than anything else. So if you don't mind either stihl or husky and location please. Me, stihl and south east. Kent.
  13. Guess its just me being a perfectionist then I like to do things the right way. No come backs over anything means a happy life for me. Guess I just had the kit lying around from the agri days and never got rid, so if I've got the tools for the job then why not use them. Keeps the rust from invading everything aswell. I have not used them sometimes on a job but always when finishing a job. I'm just a stickler for using tools. Plus that stihl combi spanner does my wrist in when tightening up long bolts.
  14. Just down the road from me. Will let you know how I get on meeting the seller......
  15. Don't see much wrong with that... Got it. "Heavy duty strimmer head"
  16. Dolmar 116 and a 026. Done some tweaks to a few 200t saws but nothing major as the saw doesn't leave much for porting anyway. Just doesn't float my boat. A short bar does a good job on a good saw. IMO. Plus I have way too much on the bench to have time to port anything. Just about got time to spend at home.
  17. Sorry fellas but to do a proper job you need the right tools. No comeback on broke head bolts. Try these out. 3/8" Dr 9pc 200mm Long Torx Socket Set | eBay
  18. Sorry but IMO you want more power go buy a bigger saw...... I'm not in the porting camp and probably never will be. After porting two saws. One went wrong and the other worked fine and still is. I'm out on porting. Why, what for, and what's the point?! Stihl will always be a superior saw in my book, not that it makes much difference s the all cut wood and do a job. My only favourite saw is the ms200t and always will be. Don't think there is a person alive that has used one that can deny that one. Spud you do a brilliant job on them but its just my opinion.
  19. Just had tea up my nose.... That's a video in my head. Jump onto a branch and get hit then just fall backwards...:lol:
  20. oh no its another mendiplogs... translator please.:lol:
  21. Don't reckon they do as the very forst thread posted on arbtalk was knocking around not so long ago....
  22. It will stop nothing. Simples Untrained people will still do this job. Either forestry or domestic. Still get the white vans with the toe ball on the back driving around (dont worry love if we damage your driveway we know who can replace it for ya) type people. Plus its on about refresher not first off training and certification. So will target those who have Certs in the first place not those that don't. So better to have nothing as you are not on there system for them to chase you about refresher training then????
  23. It will be one of those rules where its a date of manufacture thing. Rather than a ban. So they have to stop making them after a certain date but ones before that date can still be sold. Then they just wait for all the toppers to break and there will be no more to buy. So eventually they die out. Like a lot of old cars. That's what I'm thinking anyway.
  24. Yep that's why when my cpcs Certs needed refreshing I'm not bothering, too much hassle. They make it is hard and I've seen very very good operators out of work due to the stress of the hoops.
