  1. That's what the one that's on it is like and the one I've ordered should be the same. Hoping I can tap the pin out, connect the new end to the old end and as I pull the old one out it will pull the new one through if that makes sense.
  2. Mines getting pretty worn now so thinking of replacing it before it snaps. Is it an easy enough DIY job to change it? It’s a Posch S280. No idea how much the belt will be yet either so if anyone knows that too that would be great. Thanks.
  3. VW ID3/4/5, BMW IX, Cupra Born just some that spring to mind. Think all the Teslas look odd apart from the Model S too. The Mini is one of the few that basically looks the same as it's ICE counter parts.
  4. Main problem I have with most electric cars is that if I have to eventually have one I just want one that looks like a normal car but happens to be electric instead of petrol or diesel. Whereas most of them look weird.
  5. In the Wood Yard Buckin' Billy Ray Smith
  6. 1 cube a month on average. Just evenings during the week and all day and night most weekends. Basically when one of us in the fire is on.
  7. I know this an old thread but came up when I was googling. Trying to get better at maintenance... If I put a new sprocket on should I put a new bar and chain on or can I use the old bar and chain with the new sprocket? There's still plenty of life in the bar and chain.
  8. I have a separate stack of logs that get made from all the knotty ugly stuff that won't split and have been ripped down with the saw. I put 1 or 2 of these on if I want to keep the fire in whilst we're out or over night and it seems to work well. Mainly Ash and Cherry at the moment.
  9. I tried this with birch and it was only for a few weeks until I had time to split them. The ends were sweaty and going mouldy already in that time and starting to stick together. So wouldn't recommend it.
  10. Been on most nights and all day and night over weekends for about a month now. Saves putting the central heating on. Live in an old solid stone wall house so it can get quite cold without it.
  11. Recently got a Posch S280 and checking the oil level it looks like it could do with a small top up. The diagram in the manual looks completely different to what I’m seeing on the machine Manual Machine Does anyone know if that’s the right place? It’s looks to be the only place I can obviously see and want to make sure I get it right. The oil drain screw is also at the other end of the tank to what’s shown in the manual.
  12. Now you've put that picture up I've remembered it does have that sticker saying what engine speed you need to get 540 on the PTO. Surely wouldn't be too hard to get the rev counter working again. If its the same on the 4000 then I need 480 on the PTO for the processor so 1600 engine revs if I've worked that out right. Thanks for your help.
  13. Something like this? Digital Non-Contact Handheld Laser Photo Tachometer Motor speed Gauge Tester Rotational Record(60 Data)MAX/MIN/AVG ±0.02%+1 Accuracy Measuring Range:2.5-99999RPM distance:50~500mm with Reflective Tape : Amazon.co.uk: Business, Industry & Science WWW.AMAZON.CO.UK Buy Digital Non-Contact Handheld Laser Photo Tachometer Motor speed Gauge Tester Rotational Record(60...
  14. My brother says that but I haven't noticed. Whereas I find the normal 2 stroke smells weird now I'm used to Aspen.
  15. No it doesn't work. I don't think it does tell you the 540 PTO speed on the rev counter on the 4000 even if it did. The other tractor we have does tell you but that's got a loader on so want to keep that free for loading the lengths and moving IBCs and bags.
  16. I switched to Aspen for that reason. Felt hanging after a day on the saws. Don't get that with Aspen.
  17. I've just bought a firewood processor and planning to run it off an old Ford 4000 most of the time. Is there a way of fitting a PTO rev counter to it so I can set the correct PTO speed to run the processor at? Thanks
  18. I started using Aspen and equivalent Husqvarna and Stihl pre-mixed fuels approx. 3 years ago before E10 petrol was introduced because I was getting headaches and feeling awful after prolonged chainsaw and hedgecutter usage. Never had a problem since I switched to Aspen. Well worth the money for the health benefits alone in my experience.
  19. Exactly the same. Just a clear/grey film, no black soot type dirt. Just wipes off with a damp cloth, do it about once every 3 weeks.
  20. I also put them on pallets once I've filled them up for the same reasons as Kevin. More stable when stacking them and quicker to move round than jumping on and off the tractor to put the bag loops on the pallet forks. I load the bag in to the trailer and hand ball out at the customers house. Only do a small amount of logs and don't have a tipping trailer. I don't put the bags outside as if they get rained on I've found the logs in the middle can take a long time to dry out or even go mouldy. Just keep them stacked in an open fronted shed and they season well. I wouldn't want to put logs that were processed in the rain in to a vented bag, it'll go mouldy in the middle. Anything that's going to be stored outside goes in to an IBC with a little roof on as the ventilation is far superior in them if they do happen to get wet at all.
  21. This isn't good practice but there were a couple of times when we first got our stove that I put more logs in way too soon. The temperature started climbing rapidly so I opened the door fully to let the heat out and after a couple of minutes the temperature started to drop.
  22. I have the same stove but not the smoke control version. I have both vents open fully until it reaches 200 degrees C then shut the wheel completely and control the burn speed on the bottom air intake. Generally it never gets hotter than about 300 degrees C. I'd have to really try to get it up to the temperatures you're talking about. I'd be concerned there could be more damage to other parts of the stove than just the baffle plate that you can see at the moment.
  23. Seems to be. It's a Clearview Vision 500. Don't know if it makes any difference to the economy but I cut most of the logs 15 inch long which is about the biggest you can fit in it.
  24. Wicker baskets for logs and kindling. Lined the log basket with clear plastic to stop the small stuff falling out
  25. 8kw stove. 8 cubic metres a year. On every evening and all day at the weekends. Start burning in September stop in May. Basically around a cube a month.
