Dont put an extra link in if running an 8 pin . It will help but only for the first fitting . After it has stretched you will run out of adjustment . I have found standard loops ok on an 8 pin . . Extra drivers are needed only if you go larger than an 8 . There is no benefit running over sized drive sprockets on long bars with a standard power head though . You loose all the torque .

Are you running the standard 7 pin sprocket ? If so I would say there is one too many drivers ( as others have said )

Those poor people in Cumbria . Second flood in the space of a week . How disheartening must it be to be just about cleared up and wake up to it all over again . Life must seem futile to them right now . -
I think greasing them makes them deteriorate faster . Not greased a bar tip in years . The grease attracts the grit and crud and acts like a grinding paste .
