If you don't use WOT when cutting are you not getting less lube to the moving parts ?

Unless you use a Sugihara light weight pro bar then its all the chain and not the bar rail

This is what I think ( wrongly or rightly ) It is as Dave says ware . You get ware on the rivet joints which becomes clearance on the fit . The chain when being pulled on the underside of the bar " stretches " and when being pushed on the top of the bar " compresses " . Its because of this clearance in the joints that the drive links still sit in the sprocket . Add in some ware to the under side of the tie straps and the rails of the bar and you get a " farmers chain "

When it says that a new chain is " pre stretched " do they mean " pre worn "

I have noticed foxes barking at night earlier this month and now owls hooting . All calling for mates . And this morning was much lighter of late allowing me to see and hear the wall to wall sound of the jackaws as they come off roost and temporarily darken the encroaching dawn ! Once you have set the A/T the first time it will continually be adjusting itself to compensate for ambient conditions type of fuel what make of boots you ware etc etc .

When I said did it over rev I didn't mean were you using it flat out ( you are supposed to cut WOT anyway ) What I meant was did it start to rev higher than it should when WOT thus indicating an air leak .

Yes . Get the correct size screw driver . Remove the one screw holding it in place . Slide it out of its location . Put the screw driver away nice and tidy .
