  1. its easily fixable i reckon, just two gromets on either side of the clip to hold it tight to the casing.
  2. here's the vid: [ame] [/ame] has anyone else had this problem? looking around where the clip is mounted it doesnt look like anything is broken or missing.. i could be doing something wrong though? like i said it looks like the newer saws have a different clip which allows much less movement away from where it should be seated. thanks !
  3. quick update to this thread, picked up the sprocket today (big thanks to radmore and tucker for supplying the bar/chain/sprocket for free) makes a massive difference with the carving bar. less vibes as well for some reason? I did manage to bin the saw out of the tree on wednesday though, cracked casing around the exhaust and no other damage. from about 30+ ft up, bounced off tree (causing the damage) and then landed in a hedge (praise the lord) seems to be a flaw in the clip on the back, it seems (on my saw anyway) you can push it in and then move it upwards away from where its supposed to be seated, so that its resting behind the air filter cover... im uploading a video to youtube now, and will get the link up here one its done... had a look at an echo today at the shop, same model but must have been slightly newer because the clip was completely different, and couldn't be moved around in the same way. check your saws guys!
  4. if the problem just happened without any graduation i would check the linkages between the trigger and the carb, sounds like something not closing or returning properly.
  5. Which copy? How'd you get on with it? Thanks!
  6. Thanks for the advice the price looks great, but in comparison to an Alaskan style mill maybe a bit of a faff to set up?
  7. Ive got the ea7900 and even with all of the gubbins in the exhaust it is an absolute animal, specially when it warms up a bit. i would also like a medium size mill set up for it.. no idea which one to go for though!
  8. So did you rope it up, remove the crown and then lower the stem down? That must have been one hell of a weight. Nice
  9. Nicely done!!
  10. Hahaha that's a goodun
  11. Hi Paul, took this from the first post on this thread : ( I am assuming here that a,&b, are both on a list of approved contractors for the Authority )... I assumed this meant ARB approved... might be wrong though!
  12. I thought the older hiluxs had a ton-ish payload and and 2.2 ton towing capacity?? I think the ranger is 1.2 ton payload and 2.8 ton towing.. ?
  13. What a conundrum! As far as I'm aware the LA will get quotes from a list of arb approved guys and just go for the cheapest one. I don't think they would too interested in much else. If contractor B knew contractor A planned to use a mewp and then took the risk doing the climbing the tree in order to under cut them.. Then I guess contractor A would have a good grounds to be miffed. I remember something about climbing a tree should only be done if there are no other options available??? It does seem arb approval can be a bit of a farce at times. This is a pretty good example tbh
  14. Got a ranger mk1 facelift and it's great. Would say consumption is average (average 27mpg) easy to work on, really simple vehicle. Fairly short geared so shots at 2.5k when doing 60mph.
  15. How long has it been going on for mate? I get tendonitis if I'm not careful and that causes pain/numbness but I've never found it difficult to pick things up. Carpel tunnel??
  16. Loving that crane!
  17. Surely you wouldn't need to compete with the guys who run bigger chippers due to the difference in overheads?? I personally would rather take a bit longer on jobs and come away with a load of cord wood and white finger. That's just me though
  18. I find it's just business vehicles that get really stupidly confusing!
  19. What's the go with a single cab pick up then? I did some research and thought I wouldn't be able to put it against my earnings.. Looks like I may be wrong though? Hope I am!
  20. My butterfly has the ability to make my nuts feel like they're literally on fire. So I guess it's all about your preferences when picking a harness
  21. Fully agree with this, I would try approaching smaller companies for a good idea of what arb is all about. Like anywhere else I suppose the way the business is run can be the make or break of getting enjoyment out of the job.
  22. Looks smart in black! I'm really extremely tempted by SRT, this seems to be the easiest way to access it
  23. Hahaha some strong feelings on this thread!
  24. Bit more Goss! The guys at Radmore have informed me that the saws have been ordered from Scandinavia, evidently they deal with a lot more soft wood.. Sooo they're sorting me out the 1/4 cutting gear for free. Booyah
  25. Looks awesome
