    48 is what I'm after
  3. i thought that, though after speaking to the guy at radmore he said its now a factory recall because the saws are deemed unsafe to use... i don't know what would happen if you refused to cooperate, who would be at fault should something happen?? 1/4 drive sprocket came through today, speedy service as ever from chainsaw bars getting the standard sprocket off of the 280 is an absolute bastard. you can get hold of a special tool to do it, or you can use a 12mm spanner. ill attach a pic
  4. the saw has been recalled ! haha
  5. Thanks for the reply! Yeah I've ordered the catch, hopefully it will arrive today. What do you think of the Kong ascender? https://honeybros.com/Item/Kong_Futura_Hand_Ascender
  6. it wasnt kinked, and i was lucky in the way that it wasnt near the nose, it was actually where the bar meets the power unit, so with it in a vice had plenty of leverage
  7. i actually ditched my 200 out of a tree (lanyard snapped) the other day. about 40-50 foot up, hit a lower branch before getting to the ground.. bent the bar and cracked the exhaust.... anyway, the point i was going to make was that we managed to bend it back straight enough so that it works. thats a sugi pro lite btw.
  8. i would rather they kicked my door down than going to the depot with a delivery slip!
  9. received the 280 today, easy swap thanks to the guys at radmore. Ive just had a look and the 2510 sprocket wont fit the 280, so for those of you thinking of running 1/4 inch cutting gear, either try to get the 280 ordered up with that sprocket... or buy one afterwards! in terms of weight, and general size the 280 is somewhere between the 200t and the little 2510 lovely build quality
  10. Had a go up a montery pine, big shot almost upto the top, Base tie and away I went.. Ascents are amazing (as are decents with the friction always being consistent) The petzl pantin I have is shite Limb walks are difficult My hands hurt The end
  11. Heya all, just a quickie. Im seriously thinking about doing the level 4 in arb. was just wondering how people got on with the workload (and how much of it there was?) i would be going for the 1 day a week at college option.... Thanks !
  12. thanks ! ended up using the elastic from an old tourniquet and the connector ring from an old tool strop. Definitely scope for loosing teeth if it pings loose, so will find something rigid to go over the top of it...
  13. wow that last one looks mean !
  14. Thanks guys! One of the main reasons I'll try a neck lanyard first is because it's something I can lash up my self, rather than spending more money on more shiny things...
  15. out of interest, who uses a neck lanyard to advance the system when going up? i tried using my secondary line but found that putting weight on the foot loop caused the system to sit back a bit as it was biting, pulling the rope tight around my shoulder/neck.. on the other hand if i had the secondary line set more loosely it meant it wouldn't advance my system as much making the progress less efficient...
  16. been keeping an eye on this thread. Got my hands on a used RW which arrived yesterday.... quick climb up a smallish sycamore, thought it was great! getting back through natural re directs where the rope was at a fair angle from my initial anchor point was pretty difficult (where the limb used for the redirect is skinny enough to break) generally loved it though, already easier than ddrt (spoken too soon i bet) Im sure a big shot or being half decent with throw line would complement this system massively
  17. The 280 is still a great solid little saw. The 360 feels and looks like a Christmas turkey and sounds like an old vespa
  18. I've used one a few times before and thought it was great
  19. I'm going to use the 280 and then get the 2511 when it comes out... Worst case scenario is I don't like either and sell them for a profit?? I don't think that will be the case though
  20. Interesting read, coming from someone whose been doing this for 4 years, amazing to hear the difference in peoples experiences in business.
  21. Heya spud, where do you source the steel bearing from if you don't mind me asking? My 261 needs a hug big time
  22. Rob, do you know if the gb bar and gain combo will fit the 280? Thanks
