  1. Could your mate bag the minis up in small burnable net bags? easier to feed bags to a stove rather than hurling loose bucket loads at the open stove from the middle of the room
  2. My Dad (in Scotland) asked me (in France) if €??? was a reasonable price to take down and remove x2 poplars at his partners mothers house (in Holland). Having no idea (even though I scoped the trees out on Google StreetView) - I said tell granny to get as many quotes as she can be bothered to and rock on. On a related note if anyone's interested in casual game of "price the job" let me know and I'll put up screen grab ?
  3. What is the thread size? And what length you go for? (got an eBay link?) I only just managed to get the ones supplied to bite on the Dragonfly but it bent the plate a bit as it was tightened up so feels a bit of a bodge.
  4. Don't really want to be haunted - could someone summarise what happened
  5. I hear you, I can see why
  6. Any tips on fitting these components together? I've cut the broken section of pipe out and trying reattach the grease nipple (using all the old components). But olive won't fit back on the pipe - by a smidge.
  7. Sorry Mick
  8. Finished this off today to keep the dags in and boar out. 150m of 1.5m stock fencing, chestnut posts, x3 larch 5-bar gates on oak 9x9 posts. Sandstone bedrock under the 2-10" of topsoil
  9. Samson velocity - is that the one?
  10. I bought one of those Mick - but turns out the RC 2001 works just fine at 20m above ground level - so the AFB went back unused
  11. Was sent this link earlier this week https://www.sudouest.fr/2018/11/16/landes-condamne-pour-avoir-abattu-un-chene-multicentenaire-il-devra-debourser-95-000-euros-5572398-3564.php?fbclid=IwAR2WxSSmy_ucRHrfAL-OWJa6rkuBYVX91y0can50pMZ3UDBXjfUjU-aXxKg google will translate the page if you like €95,000 fine
  12. 150 too heavy - had to get an Echo 2511 ?
  13. What rope works good with this set up? And what length? I'm about 10 stone and struggled to get it to descend smoothly.. well at all..
  14. Carve a v large fruit bowl?
  15. Spruce looses its needles quite (very) quickly. I tried a spruce top one year and bought a nordman a week later.
  16. it's so dinky I can't help treating it like an ornament
  17. Will a new Echo 2511TES need any kind of running in from brand new? Also what exhaust modifications are useful for a bit of extra parp?
  18. Can anyone recommend a heavy duty jockey wheel with a wider tyre than normal - possibly pneumatic? To help when winching a 750kg chipper in, around and out of gardens and reduce digging in to soft ground.
  19. Hanging a pair of 2m 5-bar larch gates on green oak 9x9 posts tomorrow. What size bit do I need to pre drill the holes with for the 10x70mm hinge hanger wood bolts? Any other gate hanging tips as well..
  20. Some people get to work in all the nice gardens?
  21. Aye, could be the ST BG 86 C-E "Ultimate power meets ultimate simplicity. Comes with both flat and round nozzles for better versatility on the job."
  22. Cheers. Here's another photo. Not good prognosis for these trees then.
  23. Any ideas what these are? Found at the base of two separate and very healthy looking oaks. In France.
  24. Aye, it was forestry work but we were climbing - a bit of a grey area I guess
  25. For me the really is the key in all of this, and try to remind myself to climb each tree with this thought in mind. I just don't see it panning out well no matter how fast my second climber is. I'd rather put my faith into reducing the chances of serious injury occurring than worrying that each of us is highly proficient in rescue. Every so often I catch myself getting lax - a bit like driving when tired - and give myself a wake up slap.
