  1. Have you used either - or both boots? Good and bad points? I'm trying to decide which are best as my next pair for climbing and ground. Mainly interested in comfort (and fewer back problems) as they all seem to cost around the same and last roughly the same...
  2. Only problem I can think of is when you then need to sharpen up in the forest with say a 7/32" file the gullet will be a bit cramped?
  3. I was sure there was one size up from the 4.7 mm (making x3 sizes available?) but I'm probably wrong.
  4. Just wondered what disc thickness is the right one for Oregon 75 chain (7/32" 5.5mm)? Can't find the old disc and can't make sense of the online charts.
  5. Perfect, that all makes sense.
  6. 1. Did you combo this up with a pantin + some sort of knee ascender (Haas) + chest attachment? 2. How do you (if at all) switch over to DRT once you have reached/set up your top anchor? I want to use my current kit (zigzag + pantin) and add the necessary bits (Haas, RW, tether) to allow SRT access (+ any significant re-ascents) then climb DRT in the canopy.
  7. Is this diamond wheel "safer" in terms of less-toxic dust? And if used to sharpen greenteeth is it the right diameter, thickness and curve to create the correct concave finish?
  8. Kind of related: drove 2 hours earlier this week to measure the height of a tree with the throw line (by tying in slip knot). Got the line out just now to measure the height in order to determine what mewp to hire next week and the knot has been undone...
  9. 4: Get the can of high viz spray marker and calmly walk around the garden turning each dump into a neon beacon - the customer goes red and finds a shovel real quick
  10. Try Ben Ferguson, Bullseye Stump Grinding. He's done plenty in Perthshire.
  11. Cheers Dan Many thanks for the info - I'll pass this on. The tree is in a raised concrete planter in the centre of a gravel car parking area so root stress is a very likely cause. I couldn't view the Figures 1,2,3 and 4 - any ideas? Finn
  12. Still looking..
  13. Any ideas... Juvenile tulip tree exhibiting yellow leaves and brown spots. It has been well watered this season and sprayed with washing up liquid at first signs of yellowing - 2 months ago. Any ideas on ill-health and possible treatment? It seems to do this every year.
  14. Would also consider a second-hand HB20 or something very similar...
  15. I'm sure Sherriltree do a loopie and a whoopie splice
  16. I'm not a big guy so I need all the help I can get i.e. turntable/self propelled etc. Thanks for the heads up though.
  17. How do you check what Mk it is?
  18. Hi Looking for a solid second hand self propelled turntable grinder - 460 or similar. Putting the word out now as I'm hoping to find one by August/early September. Cheers
  19. Many thanks
  20. As above? Found an an ash, very dried so not 100% sure. Cheers
  21. What battery pack saw setup (climbing saw) do you use? I'm trying to find a harness mountable battery and connecting cable for use with T536Li XP... Stihl seem to do a battery belt kit to reduce the hand weight of the saw.
  22. You're probably right there. Anyone seen these for sale on mainland Europe - possibly Italy?
  23. That's getting there. This one looks simple. Still don't know how to find one on the net. [ame] [/ame]
  24. Right Looking for something like this - any ideas? What is it called? Where can I buy one? (Haven't got time or equipment to build one). Ideally it would dismantle/flat pack - aluminium tubing etc. Cheers ps if you have used a small chipper you will know why one is needed!
