  2. I'd be keen, any chance of getting a machine to the uk for demos and feed back. Newarks only 30 mins down the a1 from me. Something with a reasonable flail,4:1 bucket, log grab would be great..... Expanding tracks would be a good addition.
  3. Hi Dean, when does it hit the uk??
  4. I started the piece in the first pick last thing today. When the brush cutter hits the bracken it wobbles like a jelly for miles! It's a big tangled mess going to Try the shredder on it tomorrow instead of the tri blade.....
  5. It's Fc, they know they can do it earlier but they're not doing the work and they don't like to do too much paperwork at one time. It confuses them......
  6. Sickle blight, is that the same as a stihl canker? I'll have to remember that one! This is my first year doing it. It's not easy money!
  7. It's not so bad these days, mech weeding with a brush cutter. The first pic is tomorrows job. The second was today's the third was a week ago! Again looking for sweet chestnut in bracken. Avoiding, well trying to avoid horse flys and mozzies. After this it's spot weeding western red ceder!
  8. Depending where you are try these guys as they might be able to provide something more bespoke. http://www.kilfinancommunityforest.co.uk/index.php
  9. Alec, are you a meridian man?
  10. I'm not a garden work man, but I've got a privet which has been neglected for years before we moved in. Ive cut it with electric trimmers for a year but found it very boring. A 357 with an 18" bar and it was 2ft shorter in 10 mins (about 20m long) once the new shoots come up the green shoots will trim beautifully. Short term sacrifice really!
  11. Monkey, it's ok just the first pair of glove I picked up were the ones I'd been using to clean the fire out. He clung on for a while. Even upside down Not a great pic but what can you expect from a blackberry! He flew away just fine, they're everywhere here, the loft, the out buildings and in just about every mature tree around my house. We had a bat detector out a few nights ago and estimate we heard 20-30 different animals. I wish they'd eat more mozzies though.
  12. He doesn't live up there, we had a fire yesterday for a bit of a bank statement etc burn up.
  13. I've had a peek at his posts and he's a bit of a wet behind the ears chappy. Who, though naively is trying to start out in the big wide world.
  14. What a nice way to be able to manage the area. If you're able to keep onto of the mowing those rides will look fantastic!
  15. Good stuff, very tidy. But what do you mean be processor? A tree harvester wouldn't be bothered by brambles....
  16. It'll be fine, though at 3 years it might rot before you burn it.
  17. I'd go for larch. I bet the stuff under the water out lasts the stuff above!
  18. I created a den building area for the local Fc park. Chestnut fencing around the edge with entrance arches made from the thinnings. The rest was cut into pieces that could be used to make wigwams around trees, or lean-to shelters. Then some chunky bits for imaginary chairs and tables. You could spend a bit more time carving out some high back chairs I guess....
  19. I think tom2020 was selling one. Pm him!
