dmm will replace it and prob give ya a liitle extra. was it the plastic gromit that failed?? seems to be fairly common as it has happened to a couple of my colleagues.
  17. ok. this one aint pretty! last time anyone did anything to this was after the 87 storm!! lots of decay from old pruning wounds meant a 4-8m off alround. managed to keep some growth but as I had a small target area and lots of sheds and summer houses had to do some big rigging which took its toll on the growth I wanted to retain (brittle black pop). pics are a bit crap but it was 30m when I started. took 2 hard days.
  18. Kinda had me thinking while doing my branch attachment unit. Im just saying that maybe massaria is a planes natural mechanism for cladoptosis??? maybe it cant produce its own abcission zone???
  19. I now have a posh name for my massaria theory.....fungi assisted cladoptosis!

  23. Looking for a book that outlines and discusses management of ancient/veteran trees. Any recommendations????????????????????
  24. I did this. just to inform that I needed strange washer bolt thingys too for the other side and had to then file them down a lot to stop them digging into my boots. and I had to drill the hole to a bigger diameter too, 7 or 7.5mm I think. glad I did it as it eliminates them coming loose and they fell a whole lot more secure than the velcro.
