  1. I would put money on it being oak.........just in case you were still unsure
  2. Oh dear, if that is bare aly around the port then I would say it is definitely scrap.
  3. I cant think of many tree men who would want to give those books up mate.
  4. ash and hornbeam for me! please send samples for lab analysis so we know who is right.
  5. I would certainly start to clean it up with some fine emery cloth and some acid, see how it comes up. I cant really tell from the photos- has the ring opened out into the port and worn the edges away? Its amazing how these things come up with a bit of patience and some elbow grease.
  6. Sounds like you've got it covered.
  7. Interesting, it look as though the tree has added these ribs of strength, maybe as it has been subjected to new forces of wind?
  8. A bloke down the pub offered me eight legs of venison for fifty quid, is that two deer?
  9. Its caused me some hassle.
  10. I hope it performs better than the 65 version.
  11. Instead of trying to find the perfect bag why not have one made to your own spec? I have had some bags made by Alaska equipment, absolutely spot on, very tough, waterproof and reasonably priced. have a look Home - Alaska equipment
  12. As confusing as it sounds you want pole gaffs, tree gaffs are very long and from memory the spike is on a different angle - you wont need them in this country 99% of the time.
  13. Didn't you also have some trouble with a tractor on ebay?
  14. Sad... but true. I don't think its going to get better anytime soon.
  15. Im a stihl man, but no contest here- 365 all the way
  16. I have been asked to fix a saw that had all the serial numbers ground off it. Unless the serial number is registered stolen with the dealer and the police there is little to go on to get it back to the rightful owner. Police wont be bothered unless they have information worth following up. its your own call? - I suspected a stolen saw as the numbers had been ground- which I think is as good as it gets, what other situation would make you believe the saw is stolen? you cant make judgements on people just by the look of them! (you have to hear there accent as well)
  17. Couldn't the guy at the council shed any light on it for you?
  18. Can someone direct me to these vids? plz
  19. Im struggling to find some tube at the moment. My brothers bike is looking good.
  20. err.... I think you mean, licks
  21. I know a few (old:001_tongue:) bikers who have mentioned this also.
  22. To answer my own question. The modified hole as a rule of thumb should be around 70% of the size of the outlet port on the cylinder. I understand that there will be lots of variations to this depending on what work has been done.
  23. Any tips on modding the exhaust or is it a case of putting the biggest pipe on possible?
  24. Willans with the large back support, not fancy, not expensive, just does the job.
