  1. Yes that's why I was doubting my ident as it seems to be growing in the bark/moss of a seemingly health syc. Good leaf cover, no shabby bits of bark etc or obvious cavities etc.....
  2. Good luck! I've been freelance for about 8 yrs now but reading that makes me wish I lived closer, id be tempted.
  3. Boggles the mind doesn't it.....had to buy a new coil for £90 quid or something. In fairness if I sold someone a saw, they said it didn't work I'd be hesitant about having it returned after they'd pulled it to bits diy style. What was harsh was there was a trail of eBay messages with his instructions of what he wanted me to check etc.......water under the bridge though. Hope you get sorted with the 026 either way pal!
  4. If you fiddle with it the seller will almost certainly not refund you. I been stung like that a while back when the seller asked me to check spark then refused to have it back as he said I'd taken it to bits
  5. Does it then run fine for a while after the vacuum in tank has been released? If yes then check that tank vent again! It should not be creating a vacuum.
  6. You can check the spark by pulling the plug and reconnecting it to the wire then placing it near the cylinder and pulling saw over ( switch on) you should see it sparking. Also check the compression when hot, is it really easy to pull over? Hold it up by starter cord and see how quick it drops to the ground, shouldn't just fall straight down. Was it an ebay/paypal purchase?
  7. The stump puffball is nought to worry about? Tree appears in good health
  8. Thanks pal, thought it might be dodge. Hard to resist a good deal also!
  9. Thanks for the offer. Sounds like a scam though!
  10. What echo dealer do you find best? Can't help feeling if echo could sort parts delivery timing out they'd be blowing competition out the water....i have a 360tes and a 2700es and 2600es for carving and they are great bit the 6 week waiting time on parts has meant i can't fully switch to them
  11. Yeah poor old brad, wonder how he is getting on these days?
  12. Thanks, didn't think the tops where particularly scaly so didn't really think of pholiota, but guess this becomes less apparent later on?
  13. I haven't commited some appauling faux pas have I?
  14. I am pretty careless when it comes to fueling. I fill my 5l cans with whatever funnel comes to hand first, not often with a gauze and rarely clean inside. I do not wipe around my fuel cap before opening ( heard some people keep a special paint brush in their combi for this?). Their appears to be some muck inside fuel tanks floating around always. I have never had a blocked fuel pickup filter ever. Better things to worry about I reckon. Aspen sounds excellent. When I left the country for 6 months I wazzed some in all my saws etc. But I have never had a problem with pump fuel going stale. I do use ethanol shield which you sling 7ml in 5l ( £10 for 300ml) which says increases fuel life to a year or so.....probably snake oil but costs so little. I really enjoyed the aspen I did have, less smelly was the main thing for me!
  15. Agree I would say there us a broken wire or poor connectuon on the earth/stop switch somewhere meaning it can't switch off. Got a multimeter?
  16. Sounds very fair. If I needed one id pull yer arm off!
  17. Always been pretty bad with remembering fungus id.. trying more to get my head around it......any help appreciated. Honey fungus? Obv a puffball but which one?stump puff ball? On a healthy looking syc Dryads saddle? On a healthy looking syc ( different)
  18. It really is incredible isn't it.....to be fair this thread has discussed brexit a bit and not just immigration. But know exactly what you mean.... I encourage everyone sick of the immigration debate to ignore it and get other threads going- don't be put off arbtalk, it's awesome still, just liberally use the ignore button if a thread is doing your head in!
  19. Surely some one was having a laugh? Is there a non autotune 576 you can just nick a carb off then?
  20. Best not to I think. If your not firm with them at first they'll never learn. Seriously though I think you can create a glaze or something on cylinder if you pussy foot about when new.
  21. I bought a backhandle ms201 from a tree surgeon who said all his lads use them in the tree as he reckons it's loads safer.....id never even considered not using a top handle til then
  22. Personally I can't stand it when people immigrate from another county into Northumberland. They've never even paid council tax here before then expect a school for their kids. Sometimes they may work for less too also I hear. Everyone should just stick to within a few miles of their birth place
