  1. No scoring but piston ring is well worn. Whats peoples favourite husky parts place?
  2. That gasket seal normal on these?
  3. Yes but it won't fire even with a bit fuel popped down the spark hole....i guess one thing at a time....
  4. I cleaned the filter....so wouldn't explain it not starting but may explain it having worn rings now if you see what I mean. Yes didn't pick up on low comp in the 5 mins I looked over it first time round
  5. I got a gwo backhandle 201 for about 200 quid off eBay.....perso ally would rather that than a ms170 ( have gone through 3 of them and a 180)
  6. Just checked saw. Not good comp at all. Basically no residence at all, gunsun says 50psi. Pulled exhaust piston doesn't look scored but big black stains on it. Hoping it may just be a piston ring as not much in the way of meteor pistons etc. Air Filter was filthy . Apparently saw not done much work. Will vac test.....
  7. Sounds pretty complicated to me....i just put a loop with my normal ddrt prussock round the stem move it up with my flipline.
  8. Might be tuned badly. They seem to come pretty lean. Good alternatives to the 170 and 181 is a 200 or 201 backhandle saw. Same weight ish and pro quality build and much more powerful. You won't look back!
  9. Did try fuel and carb cleaner and it didn't fire once both on the filter and finally a drop down the cylinder. Still nothing. I will have a play and report back....
  10. Haven't checked wiring harness yet. Has a good spark. Not getting wet though.
  11. Great thanks. Gave it a quick squirt of carb cleaner just to see if I could get it to fire...no luck. I will pull exhaust/ compression test next. Ta
  12. Be a pretty good laugh if you were and old dear...wonder how many tree surgeon she's got with that one
  13. Pal has given a 550 to fettle. Won't start. New plug, good strong spark, clean air filter, good comp. Before I get started do I need to treat anything differently as it's autotune? Not worked on an autotune before. Is there a reset button on the carb? As it doesn't seem to be fueling.
  14. Ja, het is uitzonderlijk eenvoudig om je te begrijpen, vriend
  15. Like some other saws it's not designed to remain in stop position. Just you push it lightly down to kill saw and then it pops back to start. There is the option to push firmly all the way down so that it sits on stop or lock position if you choose....( unclear why you would want this)
  16. Drain your oil tank, likely they are lurking in there
  17. Couldn't find any bootlaces. did look.
  18. Been hoping that for a while. Might actually have to work it out for myself soon
  19. The caritool evo a better than standard caritool large? Sorry to bang on about it
  20. Pop a gas axe in there for a bit? Seriously though you can get gas poker lighter type things for 30 earth pounds on ebay
  21. Plus vat is about 130 like says.....but yeah not to bad. They get stock in pretty quick if you order it
  22. Don't see why not the echo isn't autotune
  23. Is it autotune? Likes like h and l screws there?
  24. Do your chimneys def stick up high enough? I extended mine by a few meters as it was lower than the highest point of my roof. It still isn't higher but it is close enough to never cause a down draft. Also worth checking the spec of the stove. Some are funny. I had a Waterford fion which had a 5inch flue outlet on the stove bit the spec was 6inch so required an immediate adapter after the stove. Wtf?
  25. Leccy leaf blower? An electronic engineer pal of mine who used to programme smoke detectors told me that a standard smoke alarm would detect CO from a fire. Obv not from a faulty had appliance.
