No I'm more a "knock a job out and get rewarded with another 'little job'" kind of guy. It's more if I'm doing a big dismantle. I'm aware of the time I'll have a break when I've reached an appropriate point.

This and this. I'm an employed TL for a small firm. I used to think I was hard done by when I cocked up and was suggested to pay for the damage. I soon learnt though. Now I lead by example. If I cock up in the tree and a fence takes a whack or whatever, I'll offer to sort it. I expect the same of the blokes I work with. Obviously this only accounts for damage caused by stupidity or absent mindedness, but when the alternative is disciplinaries my guys are happy to put their hands up.

Next time swerve into the wankers, the reflection of the sun in the lens temporarily blinded you. I hate them too, it's not what they're doing particularly, it's that it's a bunch of over the hill retirees with nothing to do and this gives them a sense of purpose/authority.

Fill your boots, my local Seddons referred to a 20" 3/8 chain as a "speciality item" before saying it would take a week to order in. You're in no danger of losing my custom mate!

More pertinent: We're any alternatives to felling considered? Relocating the road and nearby houses perhaps?

No issue with the pinto top tie, other than if you leave the butterfly loop too long you can get abrasion on that part of the rope on retrieval.

Under the top handle is a white plastic cover on the rob body of the saw. Remove the sprocket cover and this will pop off. There's an earth connection underneath. Clean it and then try.
